The Cat Eye Glasses facewear is unlocked with a one-use miscellany item called The Faces We Wear – Cat Eye Glasses. It cannot be bought from the official store listing, and the only acquisition route with documented player reports is random drops from Br’aaxskin treasure maps. Nothing in the official material gives a drop rate or guarantees the item from a specific map.
What you are looking for
There are two separate things here, and mixing them up causes most of the confusion:

- The Faces We Wear – Cat Eye Glasses is the miscellany item you need to obtain. It is an unlock item.
- Pair of Cat Eye Glasses is the facewear that the unlock adds to your character’s options. You use the item to earn the facewear; the facewear itself is not the item you search for.
The official Lodestone item record lists the item as not available for purchase, so it will not appear in a vendor or market listing you can buy from. The item’s vendor value is shown as 1,000 gil, but that figure is only the price an item sells for, not an acquisition cost or a drop statistic.
How the unlock works
The item is consumed when used. Once you have used it, the Cat Eye Glasses option becomes available as facewear, and you can keep using that facewear without holding the item.

The official Patch 7.1 notes list “The Faces We Wear – Cat Eye Glasses” among the new facewear-related unlock items. The in-game description reads: “An illustrated periodical on fashionable facial accessories, this particular issue contains a cover story on effortlessly glamorous glasses of varying colors.”
Where the item comes from
The only documented source is random drops from Br’aaxskin treasure maps. This comes from a player comment on the official Lodestone item page, from a commenter identified as Jojo Sama of Malboro [Crystal]: “Got it as a random drop from Br’aaxskin maps.” It is user testimony, not a statement from the developers.

The Patch 7.1 notes say Br’aaxskin Treasure Map rewards were adjusted, but they do not name this item as one of those rewards. So the link between the maps and the unlock rests on that single player report.
What is not established
- Drop rate: No official percentage has been published, and the player report gives no count of attempts.
- Guaranteed results: Opening a map does not guarantee the unlock. Treat map runs as a chance, not a method.
- Specific location: No official source names a chest, zone, or map tier that reliably contains the item.
- Alternative routes: No other purchase or exchange route is listed in the official record.
Practical approach
- Confirm you are searching for The Faces We Wear – Cat Eye Glasses, not the facewear name.
- Check the official Lodestone item page first. If the listing still shows “Available for Purchase: No,” do not look for a vendor or market listing.
- Run Br’aaxskin treasure maps as you normally would and keep an eye on your inventory after each reward.
- If the item does not show up after a reasonable number of maps, accept that the odds are unknown rather than assuming a fixed count will work.
Because the record and patch notes reflect the game as of Patch 7.1, check the official patch notes for later updates before relying on this route, since reward tables can change between patches.
