The seven Golden Balls in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii are split between two areas: five in Honolulu and two in Madlantis. Six are grapple targets, and the seventh is bought from the Sicko Snap points exchange for 3,333 points. Do not start searching before Chapter 3. The balls do not appear until the “When You Wish Upon Some Balls” substory is received. Some guide text calls them “Gold Balls,” but it refers to the same seven collectibles.
When the balls appear
The substory begins at the start of Chapter 3, after the conversation with Captain Beef as Majima leaves the bar, according to the Gamer Guides location guide, which lists it as substory number 24. The PowerPyx guide by Gage, dated February 20, 2025, says the collectibles stay hidden until that point. Once the substory is active, Noah comments when a ball is nearby, which is a useful prompt when you are not sure where to look.
Finding two of the balls also counts toward the “Not Counting the Usual Ones” trophy or achievement, according to PowerPyx.

The order is open once Chapter 3 unlocks. The guides do not describe a required sequence, so you can work through the list by district or wherever you happen to be.

1. Wan Shang Tong Herbal Medicine (Chinatown)
Enter the Chinese medicine shop and look at the diagram or sign at the back of the store. The gold ball is on the display there. Grapple it from where you stand.
2. Shinobi Sushi (Little Japan)
Stay outside the restaurant. Look up at the ninja statue and sign above the entrance, then use the Chain Hook to grapple the ball.
3. Seaside Avenue pool
Go to the south end of Seaside Avenue and find the wall beside the hotel and pool area. Look through an opening in the wall toward the pool, where a man is sitting nearby with the ball. Grapple him from that angle. The pool is not visible from the street, so this one is easy to overlook.

4. Treasure Select Pawn (Hula Avenue)
Enter the pawn shop on Hula Avenue. The ball is on the mannequin or statue visible through the shop window. Grapple it from inside the store.

5. Sicko Snap points exchange (near Aloha Beach)
Speak with the Sicko Snap points exchange NPC near Aloha Beach once the Sicko Snap activity is available to you. Redeem 3,333 points for the ball. Gamer Guides gives this cost. If you are short, play more Sicko Snap and return to the NPC. This is the only collectible on the list that you buy rather than grapple.
6. Dunghill bar rooftop (Madlantis)
Climb to the rooftop and check the upper ledge and green wall area for the man carrying the ball. Use the Chain Hook to grapple him.

7. Pirates’ Coliseum registration booth (Madlantis)
From the registration area, look to the side of the booth and toward the nearby stairs and barrier for the man holding the ball. If he is hard to pick out, adjust your aim until the target is clear, then grapple.

When all seven balls are collected, return to the substory’s quest contact in Hawaii. Both Gamer Guides and Siliconera report that Shen then sends a message directing you to meet him at the Honolulu docks. That is the one follow-up both sources agree on.
Wish and reward accounts differ
The guides do not agree on what the wish choice gives you. The table sets out each account as published.

Treat the wish outcome as unresolved until you see it in your own playthrough. Each source reports a different result, and neither one establishes which is correct for every version of the game.
If a ball seems missing
- Nothing appears in the area: Confirm that you have reached Chapter 3 and received the substory. The balls do not show up before then.
- The target is hard to see: Move the camera to line up with the object or NPC before using the Chain Hook. Several targets sit at odd angles, such as the Seaside pool and the Madlantis coliseum booth.
- You cannot afford the exchange: Play more Sicko Snap until you have 3,333 points, then speak with the exchange NPC again.
How current these locations are
The route above is drawn from the PowerPyx guide dated February 20, 2025, and the Gamer Guides and Siliconera location pages, both published around the 2025 release. None of these guides names the game version it was written for. If a later update has changed where the balls or NPCs appear, the directions may not match what you see on screen.
