Celeste’s Journals is a Dam Battlegrounds quest that asks you to recover two journals and bring both back to Celeste in Speranza. One journal is in the bed of the small entrance room at South Swamp Outpost in the southwest of the map. The other is in the bed of the entrance room at Raider Outpost East, in the northeast, east of the Power Generation Complex and Generator Hall. Both must be extracted in the same round.

South Swamp Outpost
Head to the southwest of Dam Battlegrounds and enter the outpost. The bed you need sits in the small entrance room that adjoins the main structure, not inside the main building. Interacting with it produces Celeste’s Journal.
Raider Outpost East
This is the location the quest calls the northern outpost overlooking Red Lakes. On the map, look for it in the northeast, east of the Power Generation Complex and Generator Hall. Search the bed in the entrance room to get the second journal. The two stops are far apart, so treat them as separate trips rather than one quick loop.
Collecting both journals and delivering them
The quest fails the purpose if you collect only one journal, so plan the whole run before you spawn in.

- Pick the outpost closer to your spawn point as your first stop. Guides suggest this to save time and reduce exposure on the longer crossing.
- At the first outpost, enter the building and search the designated bed. Confirm that Celeste’s Journal is in your inventory before you move on.
- Cross the map to the second outpost. Bring a weapon and enough ammunition to handle encounters on the way. GameSpot’s walkthrough makes this recommendation.
- At Raider Outpost East, search the bed in the entrance room to get the second journal.
- Extract with both journals in the same raid. Losing either one before extraction means the quest must be restarted in a later round.
- Return to Speranza and deliver both journals to Celeste to complete the quest.
Route planning and risk
There is no single route that guides present as definitively best, and none of the walkthroughs reviewed publish measured success rates for either route. The factors that matter most are:
- Proximity to spawn: the closer outpost is usually the better first stop.
- Distance between outposts: the crossing is the longest exposed stretch of the run.
- Raid time remaining: GameSpot’s walkthrough cites a 30-minute raid clock. This is a gameplay detail from a dated guide, not a verified figure, so check the timer in your own matches.
- Extraction risk: the second journal must survive the trip to extraction, not just be picked up.
GameSpot also notes that a safe-pocket augment can protect a journal. This is the only protection method the guides mention; they do not describe other ways to keep journals safe through a death or raid loss.
Quest wording
The quest objective reads “Retrieve Celeste’s Journals from the northern outpost overlooking the Red Lakes.” Celeste’s dialogue includes the line “Could you head out there and try to find them back before someone else stumbles on them?” This dialogue is taken from a community-maintained quest transcript on the ARC Raiders Wiki, not from an official patch note or statement, so the exact wording may differ slightly in your version of the game.

- If you cannot find the bed at either outpost, look again in the entrance room of the building you have entered, since the bed is positioned in that room in the locations described above.
- If your journals disappear before delivery, the raid likely ended before extraction, so the quest state for that round will not have advanced.
The guides reviewed do not establish whether either journal can be picked up a second time after a failed run, so verify this in-game if you need to retry.
