Where you find it depends on the game you are playing, and in some titles the only way to get one is a special gift or a transfer rather than a wild encounter. If you are playing Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, the indexed locations are South Province (Area Two) and West Province (Area Three). The full game-by-game list follows, along with the exceptions that trip up most players.
Eevee locations by game
The table below uses the location index on Pokémon Database, a secondary reference rather than an official Pokémon publication. Official Pokémon pages provide game context but do not publish a consolidated Eevee location table, so treat these entries as the best available index and confirm them in-game if something does not match.
| Game | Locations listed | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Scarlet / Violet | South Province (Area Two); West Province (Area Three) | Both are open-world areas in the base game. The 2023 event described below is separate and has ended. |
| Pokémon Sword / Shield | Route 4; Giant’s Bed; Ballimere Lake | The special Gigantamax-capable Eevee is a separate save-data gift (see below) and is not one of these encounters. |
| Pokémon Legends: Arceus | Horseshoe Plains; Space-Time Distortions | Space-Time Distortions are the game’s mobile battle spaces, so Eevee may appear there rather than in a fixed patch of grass. |
| Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee! | Route 17; Celadon City. Pallet Town is also listed for Let’s Go, Eevee! only. | Pallet Town is listed only for the Eevee version. |
| Pokémon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl | Not stated as a wild-catch location | The index lists trade or migration instead, so do not expect a field encounter in these games. |
Sword and Shield’s Gigantamax Eevee is a gift, not a wild Eevee
The Eevee that can Gigantamax in Sword and Shield is a save-data bonus rather than something you catch on a route. According to the official Sword and Shield site, owners with Let’s Go, Eevee! play records can receive it at the Wild Area Station. Two points matter for anyone hunting it:
- It is tied to your Let’s Go, Eevee! save data, so it is not available to every Sword and Shield player.
- It cannot evolve, which means it is not a stepping stone to Espeon, Umbreon or any other Eeveelution.
The Scarlet and Violet 2023 Eevee event has ended
The Pokémon Company’s 2023 event notice describes Eevee appearing in 7-star Tera Raids and mass outbreaks in Scarlet and Violet between November 16 and 20, 2023. That window is over. Do not plan around it or treat it as the everyday answer for finding Eevee in those games. Event Pokémon are only available while the event runs, so anything from that period is a historical reference.

Moving Eevee with Pokémon HOME
If you already own an Eevee in another game, Nintendo’s Pokémon HOME support page lists these titles as compatible with HOME:
- Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
- Pokémon Legends: Arceus
- Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
- Pokémon Sword and Shield
- The Let’s Go titles
Compatibility is not the same as a guaranteed transfer. The same support page says transfer guidelines apply, so check the current rules for both the source game and the target game before you try to move an Eevee across.

How to choose the right route
- Confirm your exact game title. Eevee’s location changes by title, and the same name can point to a different route in another game.
- Decide whether you need a wild Eevee or a gift. The Gigantamax Eevee in Sword and Shield and the 2023 Scarlet and Violet event are not standard encounters.
- Check whether the area is available to you. Area requirements, DLC and events can determine whether a listed location is open in your save.
- Check whether a trade or transfer is needed. For Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the index points to trade or migration, and HOME transfers follow the compatibility rules above.
What the sources do not establish
- Encounter odds. No reliable encounter rate for Eevee in any game is established by the sources used here, so this guide does not compare odds between routes.
- Current listings. The Pokémon Database index can lag behind game updates, and the locations here reflect the sources as of October 2026. If a location has changed, the in-game Pokédex and current official Pokémon pages are the more reliable check.
