There are 20 plaques to read across Averno City in The Precinct. Use this landmark checklist to find all of them and work toward the Historian trophy or achievement. The directions identify search areas rather than exact coordinates, and some locations may vary by game version.

Before you start looking

The guides list 10 plaques in Western Averno and 10 in Eastern Averno. Their directions rely on nearby buildings and landmarks, not map coordinates. One guide says plaques are not marked on the map, while another recommends waiting until the full map is unlocked; because those accounts may reflect different progression states or versions, check your own map and collectible menu rather than relying on either behavior.

Search the landmark’s nearby walls, doors and other faces if a plaque is not immediately visible. A guide notes that some plaques moved in post-launch patches. The checklist below groups locations by the guides’ western and eastern listings for convenience; it is not a tested fastest route. Locations are based on third-party guides, not developer documentation. (MapMaster; Gamer Social Club; Steam Community guide)

Western Averno plaques

  1. ACPD Precinct: Check the wall at the back of the precinct, near the rear door.
  2. Averno Industry Steel Mill: Look on the wall just left of the entrance to Northern Brookhaven Subway Station.
  3. Eastern Averno City Bridge: Search the building to the right of Lacoima Bridge.
  4. The Colosseum: Check near the doors on the building’s eastern side.
  5. Hotel Rouge: Look by the main door of the western Sunnyside building marked by several flags.
  6. Jammy’s Donuts: Check the shop’s front window. The guides differ on nearby area or station names—one mentions Sentinel Square Subway Station and another Boddicker Yard—so use the shop itself as your main landmark.
  7. The Roxy Lounge: Search around the entrance in Carlito and nearby entertainment venues. One guide places a plaque between a peep show and a record shop, and a community guide notes a possible location change.
  8. Serenity Park: Look on a large tree at the top of the stairs on the park’s western side.
  9. Averno City’s Museum of Local History: Check beside the front door.
  10. Beale Broadcast: Look near the entrance to the Averno Sentinel building or sign.

Eastern Averno plaques

  1. Electric Avenue Theater: Search near the entrance beside Joe’s Games & Hardware; one guide specifies the left side of the door.
  2. Averno Guardians: Check on or beside the large statue in Central Plaza.
  3. Averno City Docks: Search a corner or wall of the large red building at the northern docks in Carver Port.
  4. West Bay Bridge / Western Averno City Bridge: Look for the nearby building wall. The guides describe different landmarks—a Welorite Pharmacy storehouse and a green-roofed building by Longmile Bridge—so confirm the bridge and nearby buildings against your in-game map.
  5. Averno City’s First R.A.A.T. Station: Check the wall near the South Shore Subway Station entrance.
  6. Helipad: Look on the small building beside the entrance to Pilgrim’s Lookout Helipad.
  7. Coastal Seating Area: Search the small kiosk or building in the parking lot near Pilgrim’s Lookout and Slipwater Yard.
  8. Chinatown: Check at the bottom of the northwestern stairs in Chinatown Plaza.
  9. St. Harry’s Hospital: Look near a phone booth by the northern emergency entrance.
  10. Founder’s Bank: Search the bank wall facing the parking lot; the side entrance and lot are useful landmarks.

How to check for a missing plaque

  • Circle the named landmark and inspect more than one side of its building, wall or structure.
  • Use the in-game map when available to confirm the landmark, especially where the guides give different district or building names.
  • Check the collectible menu to see which plaques remain unread; map marking behavior is not consistent across the guides.
  • If a listed spot is empty, try another face of the same structure. The guides warn that post-launch patches moved some plaques, but do not identify the affected patch versions.

What reading plaques contributes to

Third-party guides report that reading all 20 plaques counts toward the Historian trophy or achievement. One guide also notes that plaque dates may help with nearby Artifact Safebox clue codes; that is an optional exploration use, not a requirement for the plaque completion goal.
