Series 8 has ended, and the sources reviewed do not confirm whether this item has since returned to any exchange, so the practical first step is to check the current in-game reward and exchange menus rather than assume it is still available.
How to learn the emote once you have the item
Using the item teaches the emote. Once learned, type /dazed in the chat box to perform it. The in-game description of the emote reads: “See stars as you stumble in a stupor.” (Dazed acquisition reference)

Where the item came from
The topic-specific reference lists the item’s acquisition as the PvP Series 8 Malmstones – Level 5 Reward. Square Enix’s Patch 7.2 notes independently identify the same item and state that it teaches /dazed. (Square Enix Patch 7.2 Notes)
The Patch 7.2 item description reads: “An illustrated manual on a weakened stance meant to incite pity, or potentially triumph, in the beholder. Use to learn the /dazed emote.” This is flavour text in the game, not evidence of a physical manual.

Can you still get it?
Series 8 is over. Square Enix’s announcement that Series 8 was drawing to a close as Series 9 began said Series 8 rewards could be claimed until the end of Series 9, and it described a Previous Series menu for claiming earlier rewards. (Square Enix: Series 8 draws to a close as Series 9 begins)
The official PvP guide states that series rewards change when a Series ends and that earned rewards can be claimed until the following Series ends. (Square Enix PvP Guide) Those rules set the historical claim window. They do not, by themselves, confirm that this specific item has been added to a later exchange. As of this writing, the sources reviewed do not show that it has, so do not promise readers that they can still obtain it.

How to check the current options
- Open the Character menu and select PvP Profile.
- Open Series Malmstones to view your Series progress and the rewards listed for it.
- Check the current PvP exchange inventory for the Dazed item. If it is not listed, the item is not currently offered through that exchange.
If you already completed the Series 8 level 5 reward in its claim window, the item should have been delivered at that time. If you missed that window, the official rules above indicate the reward is no longer claimable through the normal Series system.
