Where Aluminum Ore spawns
Northern Hagga Basin and the Eastern Shield Wall
The Eastern Shield Wall in northern Hagga Basin is the location named in the most detailed farming guide available for this item. Method’s walkthrough, dated July 11, 2025, recommends setting out for the Shield Wall and mining the deposits there, then following the pathways through and around the cliffs in a loop so you pass multiple deposits in one trip (Method, Where to Find Aluminum Ore in Dune Awakening). The Dune: Awakening Community Wiki’s entry for the ore is the reference for item data (Dune: Awakening Community Wiki, Aluminum Ore).
The Deep Desert
The community wiki’s resource listing also describes aluminum as common in the Deep Desert. That is a broader area with different risks and a different travel commitment, so the Eastern Shield Wall remains the simpler answer for most players at this stage. The gaming.tools database lists Aluminum Ore as a Tier 4 common item and names three sellers for it, which tells you the ore has a market in-game, but the listing does not say where each seller obtains stock (gaming.tools, Aluminum Ore).
Mining it: Cutteray Mk3 or Buggy
Method’s guide states that a Cutteray Mk3 is required to mine Aluminum Ore. It also describes a Buggy as the more efficient option for gathering more ore per run. The two approaches differ in the ways that matter for planning:

The 2,500 figure is the author’s own estimate from July 2025, not a guaranteed or independently tested yield. No controlled comparison between the two methods is available, so treat the Buggy as the route Method recommends rather than a measured advantage. Method also suggests combining the trip with a Diamondine Dust route west of the Shield Wall. That is optional, and it is only worth adding if you are already there for the ore.
Refining Aluminum Ore into ingots
At your base, Aluminum Ore is refined into Aluminum Ingots at either a Medium Ore Refinery or a Large Ore Refinery. The community wiki lists different ore requirements for each facility:

These are community database values rather than figures from the developer. Check the recipe in the refinery’s crafting interface before you commit a large batch of ore, since a recipe that differs from the wiki would change how many ore you need to haul. The wiki’s figures are the only quantities currently available in the sources used here.
Why map markers can point to the wrong resource
The Hidden Gaming Lair’s interactive map lists 5,440 Aluminum Ore (Small) pickups, page updated October 8, 2026 (The Hidden Gaming Lair, Dune: Awakening Interactive Maps and Locations). That count is map inventory, not a guarantee that every marker holds aluminum on the day you visit. The map’s October 2 update explains that many Hagga Basin resource spots rotate among different resources. If a marker says aluminum and you find something else, the spot has rotated rather than the map being wrong about the area. Use the map to plan your route, then confirm the deposit when you arrive.

Version and currency
The gaming.tools database shows data version 1.5.3.6, updated October 6, 2026. Funcom’s 1.4.0.0 patch notes list a May 19, 2026 release date and a June 10, 2026 last update, but the excerpt available for this guide does not address aluminum locations or recipes (Funcom, Dune: Awakening 1.4.0.0 Patch Notes). Method’s farming route predates that patch sequence, so its yield estimate and tool requirement may have changed. If the route or the refinery recipe does not match what you see in game, the in-game interface is the authority.

- Confirm you have a Cutteray Mk3, and a Buggy if you want the higher-capacity route Method describes.
- Travel to the Eastern Shield Wall in northern Hagga Basin and check the deposits against your map marker.
- Loop the cliff pathways rather than backtracking, so you cover more deposits per trip.
- Return to base and refine the ore at a Medium or Large Ore Refinery, checking the in-game ingredient count first.
The Eastern Shield Wall is the answer for most players looking for Aluminum Ore right now, while the Deep Desert remains a broader source you can use if you are already traveling there.
