Start the Patch 7.4 main scenario by accepting 羅針盤が示す先へ from Alphinaud in Solution Nine at X:11.9 Y:6.3. You need a level 100 Disciple of War or Magic and must have completed the preceding main-scenario quest, 明日への道標.
How to start the Patch 7.4 main scenario
- Switch to a Disciple of War or Magic at level 100.
- Check your journal and make sure you have completed 明日への道標.
- Travel to Solution Nine and speak with Alphinaud at X:11.9 Y:6.3 to accept 羅針盤が示す先へ.

If Alphinaud does not offer the quest
Recheck both requirements in your journal: your active combat class or job must be level 100, and 明日への道標 must be complete. Those are the listed conditions for accepting the opening quest.
Patch 7.4 in context
This guide covers the Patch 7.4 story segment, not the latest numbered patch. Square Enix later published official notes for patches 7.41 and 7.45. Patch 7.4’s notes also distinguish additions that require registering Dawntrail from content available by applying the patch; the listed starting quest’s level and prerequisite are stated separately in those notes.
