Download the 2018 God of War for PC from either Steam or the Epic Games Store, the two storefronts listed by PlayStation. Buy or access the game through the store account you plan to use, then install it from that store’s library.
Which PC download should you choose?
Both Steam and Epic Games Store are official options for God of War (2018). Compare the listings in your region for current price and availability, and consider which client and account you already use. Prices, discounts, and availability can vary by region and change over time.
How to download and install the game
After purchasing directly from a storefront, you do not need a separate code. Santa Monica Studio’s Getting Started guide, dated November 5, 2022, describes this library-based installation process:
- Open the Steam or Epic Games client and sign in to the account that owns the game.
- Open your library and select God of War.
- Choose Install, check the available drive space and installation location, then start the download.
If you bought a game code from another authorized retailer, redeem it in the corresponding storefront before installing. The support guide provides separate redemption instructions for Steam and Epic Games.

Check your PC before buying
The Steam listing specifies Windows 10, a 64-bit processor and operating system, 8 GB of RAM, 70 GB of available storage, DirectX 11, and DirectX feature level 11_1. Its minimum examples are an Intel i5-2500k or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 processor and an NVIDIA GTX 960 (4 GB) or AMD R9 290X (4 GB) graphics card. Recommended examples are an Intel i5-6600k or AMD Ryzen 5 2400 G processor and an NVIDIA GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD RX 570 (4 GB) graphics card. These are listed configurations, not a guarantee of performance on every PC.

Use the target that matches your display and expectations, then compare your GPU, processor, memory, operating system, and storage with the relevant official tier. A graphics card alone does not establish that your whole system will meet a target.

No. PlayStation lists fully customizable mouse-and-keyboard bindings, as well as support for DUALSHOCK 4, DualSense wireless controllers, and a wide range of other gamepads. For DUALSHOCK 4 on PC, PlayStation notes that a compatible micro-USB cable or DUALSHOCK 4 USB wireless adaptor may be used. A controller is optional, not a download or play requirement.
