Accept “The White Wanderer,” and the normal trial, The Windward Wilds, becomes available. Extreme difficulty is a second step: after that quest, you speak with the Wandering Minstrel in Tuliyollal at X:11.1, Y:14.6.
What you need before you start
- A level 100 character as a Disciple of War or Magic. Both the quest and the Extreme step depend on this role and level.
- The main scenario quest “Dawntrail” completed. Square Enix’s Patch 7.35 notes state: “Players must first complete the main scenario quest ‘Dawntrail.'” (Patch 7.35 Notes, Lodestone)
- Dawntrail purchased and registered. The same patch notes say the crossover additions require purchase and registration of Dawntrail. If you already own the expansion, nothing extra is needed for this unlock.
- Enough gear for the trial you want. The normal trial requires an average item level of 725, and Extreme requires 740.
Unlocking “The White Wanderer”
The unlock starts with a single quest, given by an NPC in Tuliyollal. The patch notes list the Dawn Hunt Tracker at X:13.3, Y:13.1.

Unlocking Extreme
Extreme is not opened by the normal trial’s completion. It needs the quest and a separate conversation.
- Complete “The White Wanderer” using the steps above.
- As a level 100 Disciple of War or Magic, travel to Tuliyollal and speak with the Wandering Minstrel at X:11.1, Y:14.6.
- Once your average item level reaches 740, enter The Windward Wilds (Extreme) through the Raid Finder.
Is the duty still available?
Yes, according to the official crossover page, which states: “This is not a limited time Duty.” (FINAL FANTASY XIV & MONSTER HUNTER WILDS Crossover Duty – The Windward Wilds) That page does not give a date, and the latest patch notes cited here are from October 14, 2025. Later patches can move NPCs or change access rules, so check the newest patch notes before relying on the coordinates above.

Troubleshooting
- The Dawn Hunt Tracker offers no quest. Confirm that your character is level 100 and that it is a Disciple of War or Magic, and that the “Dawntrail” main scenario is finished.
- The coordinates do not match. The positions come from Patch 7.35. If the NPC is elsewhere in Tuliyollal, use the map and search by NPC name.
- The Wandering Minstrel does not respond. Confirm that “The White Wanderer” is complete. The Minstrel step is only listed after that quest.
- The trial is not open to you. Check your average item level against the figure for the tier you want, from the requirements above.
