Square Enix’s Patch 6.55 Notes, updated January 23, 2024, are the source for the listed unlock details. Some follow-up quest names and locations are hidden in the notes; begin the listed quest and follow your journal rather than trying to infer those details.
Where do I start the Patch 6.55 quests?
Find your content line below. Unless noted otherwise, the listed level 90 quests require a Disciple of War or Magic. Coordinates use the in-game map for the named location.

“Growing Light” is a shared gate for the main scenario, Tataru’s quest, and the Island Sanctuary quest, but those lines have different additional prerequisites. The Island Sanctuary quest is listed at level 1; its stated requirements are “Growing Light” and “The Sweetest Thing.”

How do the Hildibrand and Manderville Weapons unlocks connect?
The two lines overlap at “Gentlemen at Heart.” Start the Hildibrand chain first if you have not completed it: “Of Duplicity and Duplication” follows “Not from Around Here,” and “Gentlemen at Heart” comes after “Of Duplicity and Duplication.” The Manderville Weapons quest “Resonating with Perfection” then requires “Gentlemen at Heart” as well as the separate weapon quest “A Spirited Reforging.”
The official notes also state that the follow-up to “Resonating with Perfection” requires “In Need of Adjustment.” That is a later step, not a prerequisite for starting “Resonating with Perfection.”

How do I unlock the Gilded Araya?
“Gentlemen at Heart” is the listed quest requirement for the Gilded Araya. To reach that quest, complete “Of Duplicity and Duplication.” The trial’s combat-entry specifications are separate from the quest gate:
- Level 90
- Average item level 625 or above
- Eight players
- 60-minute time limit
The Patch 6.55 notes do not list a starting location or level for “Gentlemen at Heart,” so use the quest journal after completing “Of Duplicity and Duplication” to continue the chain.
What else does Patch 6.55 add?
Patch 6.55 adds two Endwalker main scenario chapters and two side-story chapters to New Game+. Each chapter becomes available after completing its final quest. The notes also specify that Endwalker – Part 4 must be complete to unlock Endwalker – Part 3 in New Game+.
Other additions include furnishings, orchestrion rolls, Gold Saucer prizes, Triple Triad cards, emotes, and other collectibles and system updates. Thaleia is also added as a Wondrous Tails objective. The official Patch Notes and Special Sites index lists the 6.55 entry.
Some additions require the appropriate expansion registration. Check your service-account entitlements for the content you want to access; the Patch 6.55 notes identify Endwalker as a relevant entitlement. The earlier Patch 6.5 Notes previewed content slated for 6.55.
