Black Ice is a weapon skin, not an operator cosmetic. Any operator who can equip a weapon with a Black Ice skin in your collection can use that skin on that weapon. Frost and Buck are the operators Ubisoft introduced alongside the original Black Ice content, but they do not own the skin. The practical question is therefore which weapon carries a Black Ice skin and whether your operator can bring that weapon into a loadout.
Black Ice belongs to weapons, not operators
Ubisoft’s original Operation Black Ice update introduced Frost and Buck, and it also described Black Ice as a weapon skin. Because the skin is attached to the gun, the list of people who can use it is the list of operators who can equip that gun. Two operators can show the same Black Ice skin on the same weapon, while a third operator who cannot take that weapon has no way to show it.
This matters most when you compare operators. A question like “who has Black Ice?” is really two checks: which weapon the skin is on, and whether the operator’s loadout allows that weapon.
Which weapons carry Black Ice in the current season
Ubisoft’s Y11S1 Black Ice Packs announcement, dated March 2, 2026, lists 14 weapons in this season’s Black Ice collection:

Each of the 14 weapons comes in four Black Ice colors, Pink, Red, Purple and Green, for 56 weapon skins in that collection. The announcement does not map those weapons to operators. To build an operator list, check each weapon against the operators who can equip it in the game’s current loadouts.
How to get Black Ice now
Ubisoft’s Y11S1 announcement says two Black Ice Packs are exclusive Premium Battle Pass rewards, and each pack awards one skin from that season’s Black Ice collection. Ubisoft’s Operation Split Fire Battle Pass page lists the same two Black Ice Packs among Premium rewards, with a season window of September 1 to December 1, 2026. As of October 8, 2026, that window is open according to Ubisoft’s page.

The two Ubisoft pages use different season labels, so the official material does not explicitly confirm that the Y11S1 pool is the same as the Operation Split Fire pool. Check the in-game Battle Pass before you buy to see which pack and which pool it draws from.
Pack odds and duplicate conversion
Ubisoft publishes these odds for the Y11S1 Black Ice Packs. They apply to that season’s pool only and are not a promise about later packs.

- Siege X marks the biggest evolution in its history, and deepens the game’s tactical core.
| Color | Chance per pack (Y11S1, Ubisoft) | Chance for one specific weapon in that color (derived) |
|---|---|---|
| Pink Black Ice | 10% | About 0.71% (10% divided by 14 weapons) |
| Red Black Ice | 30% | About 2.14% (30% divided by 14 weapons) |
| Purple Black Ice | 30% | About 2.14% (30% divided by 14 weapons) |
| Green Black Ice | 30% | About 2.14% (30% divided by 14 weapons) |
The derived column assumes Ubisoft’s statement that every weapon within a color has equal odds holds. If you receive a skin you already own, Ubisoft states that the duplicate converts automatically into 15,000 Renown.
What the Black Ice rarity labels mean
Ubisoft’s Y11S1 rarity framework uses “Black Ice” as its Epic example and “Colored Black Ice” as its Legendary example. Ubisoft says the framework applies retroactively to existing Locker items, while noting the guidelines could still change. Check the rarity shown in your Locker rather than assuming an older item matches the new label.

Older Black Ice routes
Earlier Black Ice content was sold differently. Ubisoft’s original Operation Black Ice update said the Black Ice weapon skin was exclusively for sale with R6 Credits for the duration of Season One, and that it could be applied to all weapons in your arsenal. That sale window has ended, and its terms are historical rather than current.
Ubisoft’s July 14, 2017 Alpha Pack FAQ described Alpha Packs as a second chance at limited-time cosmetics, including the Black Ice Weapon Skin series. That confirms Black Ice was once available through Alpha Packs. It does not show that Alpha Packs contain Black Ice today.

How to check whether your operator can use a Black Ice skin
- Open the Operators screen and select the operator you want to check.
- Look at the primary weapon options available in that operator’s loadout.
- Confirm the weapon is one of the 14 in the current Black Ice collection, or a legacy Black Ice weapon you own.
- Open the weapon’s skin selection and look for the Black Ice color you own.
- If the weapon does not appear for that operator, the skin cannot be applied to that operator’s loadout.
What is not established
Ubisoft’s official pages do not provide a complete, current operator-by-operator list for every legacy and seasonal Black Ice weapon. The reliable answer is the weapon rule above plus the 14-weapon Y11S1 list. Any complete roster should be checked against the operators and weapons available in the game when you read it.
Ubisoft’s odds and duplicate figures also apply to the Y11S1 pool only. They do not show how future Black Ice packs will be priced or weighted.
Quick Recap
- Black Ice is a weapon skin, so operator access depends on the weapon.
- The current Y11S1 pool covers 14 weapons in four colors.
- Black Ice Packs are listed as Premium Battle Pass rewards in Ubisoft’s current materials.
