Then verify you’re using the correct Epic Games account and confirm the transaction completed. A different balance on another platform—especially Nintendo Switch—can be normal because some V-Bucks are platform-restricted.
Why are my V-Bucks not showing up after purchase?
Epic says purchased V-Bucks are added to your account when you sign in to Fortnite on the same platform where you bought them. Work through these checks in order:

- Restart Fortnite. Close and reopen the game to refresh the displayed balance.
- Sign in on the purchase platform. If you bought V-Bucks on a console, check Fortnite on that console before troubleshooting a balance on another device. Epic’s purchase troubleshooting guide says purchased V-Bucks are added after signing in on the platform used for the purchase.
- Verify the Epic account. Compare the account ID shown in your Epic Games account with the ID in Fortnite’s in-game profile. A purchase associated with a different account will not appear in the account you are currently using.
- Check whether platform wallet rules explain the difference. V-Bucks bought on Nintendo Switch are not shared with other platforms. The Shared Wallet rules also include a regional exception for players in Korea: V-Bucks bought on PC are not shared with other platforms. See Epic’s Shared Wallet explanation.
- Confirm the purchase completed. Review your platform’s transaction history. If there is no transaction record, Epic says the purchase did not go through; check with your bank or payment provider before trying again.
Why are my V-Bucks different on Switch or another platform?
Fortnite’s Shared Wallet does not mean every purchased V-Buck is available everywhere. Compare the balance on the platform where you bought the V-Bucks with the balance on the platform where you think they are missing. A lower balance elsewhere may reflect platform restrictions rather than a failed purchase.
| Balance type | Where it can be used | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| V-Bucks bought on Nintendo Switch | Not shared with other platforms and cannot be used in the Fortnite Web Shop. | Check the balance in Fortnite on Switch. |
| V-Bucks bought on most other platforms | May be platform-restricted under Epic’s Shared Wallet rules. | Compare the purchase platform’s balance with the other platform’s balance. |
| V-Bucks earned through Fortnite Passes, Quest Packs, or Save the World | Shared across platforms. | Check the same Epic account on the platforms you use. |
| Items bought with V-Bucks | Available across platforms where you play Fortnite. | Check your locker on the linked platforms. |
| V-Bucks bought on PC by players in Korea | Not shared with other platforms. | Check the PC balance; the Korea exception is described in Epic’s Shared Wallet article. |
Epic’s article uses examples of 1,000 purchased V-Bucks and 1,000 purchased plus 500 earned to explain how balances can differ. These are illustrative examples, not measured statistics.

How do I check my V-Bucks balance?
Epic says you can check your balance on the Epic Games website under the in-game currency section or in Fortnite. The website separates platform-restricted balances from V-Bucks that can be redeemed on any platform. Use those categories alongside the in-game balance to see whether the missing amount is restricted to a purchase platform.
What if I redeemed a V-Bucks card or Fortnite Gift Card?
Card redemption is separate from buying V-Bucks directly: a direct V-Bucks purchase does not give you a code to redeem. If you have a V-Bucks card, redeem its code separately. Epic also says that a Fortnite Gift Card redeemed, or V-Bucks added, on a non-Nintendo device will not make that balance appear on Nintendo Switch. You can still spend that balance on Item Shop items, and those items will appear on linked platforms. See Epic’s V-Bucks card redemption instructions and its Nintendo Switch balance guidance.

Who should I contact about V-Bucks that are still missing?
Contact the support team for the store that processed the purchase. For a purchase made through PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo, Epic directs players to that platform’s support team. For an Epic Games Store purchase, submit an Epic support request and include the order number, the amount of V-Bucks purchased, and the platform used. Keep the transaction record or receipt available when you contact support.

Epic’s support page titled “Why my purchased V-bucks do not appear in Fortnite?” referred to some players who had not received purchased V-Bucks on May 14, 2026, while Epic investigated. That is a dated incident note, not evidence of an active issue on October 8, 2026. Check the linked Fortnite Status page for current status and the date of any relevant notice before treating an incident as the cause.
