The Chapel of the Architect is in the Underworks, north of the Twelfth Architect. To open it, you need the Architect’s Key, reported to cost 110 Rosaries and to require 25 acquired tools before it appears for purchase. Before binding the Architect Crest and leaving, check the Chapel’s top-right breakable wall: the hidden room contains a Needolin location and the remains of the other eleven Architects.
What you need to unlock the Chapel
The Architect’s Key reference lists a price of 110 Rosaries and says you must have acquired 25 tools before buying it. Treat the tool count as a reported requirement rather than a confirmed official rule: PC Gamer says the exact trigger was unclear, while another guide describes the key as becoming available after collecting an unspecified number of tools. If the Twelfth Architect does not offer the key, check their inventory again after collecting more tools.
The key’s cited in-game description points to its purpose: “If Bug-Red could prove their aptitude with our implements, and others like, I would offer my key, to grant access to the chapel-store above.”
Where to find the Chapel
The Chapel is a small room in the Underworks, north of the Twelfth Architect. The available location descriptions support this landmark-based route, not a verified sequence of room-by-room turns.

- Reach the Underworks and locate the Twelfth Architect. PC Gamer places the Architect near the Cauldron and describes reaching the eastern Underworks via Whiteward and Clawline.
- Buy the Architect’s Key from the Twelfth Architect when it appears in the inventory.
- Head north to the small Chapel and use the key to enter. PC Gamer’s broader route description has the player travel right, then up, and cross back after purchasing the key; use the Architect and Chapel landmarks to orient yourself.
Check the hidden room before leaving
Spoilers for a concealed lore location: Before binding the Architect Crest, inspect the Chapel’s top-right wall and break through it. The room beyond contains a Needolin location and the remains of the other eleven Architects, according to the Chapel location reference.
That reference warns that the entrance closes permanently after you bind the Crest and leave the Chapel. Explore the hidden room before taking the Crest and exiting; do not assume you can return later.

What the Architect Crest offers
The Architect Crest is suited to players who want to spend Silk to craft new skills rapidly. PC Gamer’s crest guide reports that it starts with three tool slots and no amulet or trinket slots. It also describes a screw-like spinning attack and a tool-refresh mechanic.
Those trade-offs make the Crest a playstyle choice, not a universal upgrade. Consider whether its Silk-powered crafting and tool-focused layout fit the way you want to fight; the available information does not establish it as better than other crests.
