Version 1.4 release schedule
HoYoverse’s official notices gave three separate milestones for Version 1.4. They are easy to confuse, so they are listed separately below. All times are in UTC+8, the time zone HoYoverse used in its announcements.

The December 18 release and what it meant for players
The update start was the moment the new content was due to become available. HoYoverse’s notice estimated that the work would take about five hours, and quoted the phrase “It will take about five hours to complete.” The notice is the source of that wording; no individual speaker was named.
Because the maintenance figure was an estimate, the actual downtime could differ. Players who planned around the update should allow some margin rather than treating 06:00 plus five hours as a fixed reopening time.

HoYoverse’s official livestream description said that S-Rank Agent Hoshimi Miyabi would be added to the Exclusive Channel. It also said players could obtain S-Rank Agent Asaba Harumasa by logging in. The description did not give further details on how the login reward was structured, so readers should check the in-game event screen for specifics.

Keeping the special program and the update apart
The December 6 special program and the December 18 update are two different events. The program was a livestream held on the day the announcement was made. The update was the version launch twelve days later. Searches for the “release date” usually refer to the update, not the livestream.
Reading the times in your own time zone
Because the official start time is 06:00 UTC+8, a player in another region sees a different calendar date. In UTC, the start falls on the evening of December 17, 2024, and the planned end falls on the evening of January 21, 2025. Players should convert from the official UTC+8 figure rather than relying on a local date alone, since maintenance estimates and any post-update changes are reported against that baseline.
