Diablo III players reported Error 395002 while retrieving their hero lists as recently as October 7, 2026, but those reports do not confirm a global outage or establish whether the problem is still active. Blizzard’s separate Diablo IV login incident on September 15 was marked fixed. Check Blizzard’s current notices for Diablo III before treating the reports as a live service outage.
What is happening with Diablo III servers?
Recent player posts describe Diablo III failing to retrieve the hero list with Error 395002, particularly on the Americas region. One player reported that Europe and Asia remained accessible while Americas did not. Other players described similar symptoms, but forum reports cannot establish how many players are affected or whether Blizzard has confirmed a service incident.

The reports were still appearing on October 7. The available evidence does not verify whether the issue remains active on October 8, 2026, or has since been resolved. Check Blizzard’s current in-client notices and official customer-support announcements for the latest status before troubleshooting your own connection.
What does Error 395002 mean in these reports?
In the recent reports, the error appeared during hero-list retrieval—the step where the game loads a player’s characters. Note the exact error, region, and point at which login fails. That information helps distinguish a region-specific service symptom from a problem affecting your local connection or game files.

A player-authored forum thread also recounts a support response suggesting basic repair and cache steps, followed by further investigation if those steps did not help. That is a secondhand account, not a public Blizzard outage announcement or confirmation of a fix.
What to try if Diablo III will not load your heroes
- Check service notices first. Look at Blizzard’s current in-client notices and official support announcements. If Blizzard reports an interruption, local repair steps may not address the cause.
- Record the details. Write down Error 395002, your region, and whether the failure occurs while retrieving the hero list or at another login stage.
- If services appear available, follow Blizzard’s troubleshooting guidance. Blizzard identifies corrupted cache as a common cause of character-login trouble and missing or corrupted files as another possibility. Use its guidance to check cache and run the game-file repair tool where appropriate; see Blizzard’s Diablo III connection troubleshooting.
- If it continues, contact Blizzard support. Include the region and exact error, along with the steps you have already tried. Do not assume that reinstalling, switching regions, purchasing networking equipment, or waiting for a particular maintenance window will fix this reported issue.
A wired connection is worth considering only if your Wi-Fi is unstable; Blizzard’s general guidance does not show that Ethernet fixes Error 395002. The reports also do not establish that buying or changing network hardware resolves the hero-list problem.

Diablo IV login issue: Blizzard marked the September 15 incident fixed
This is a separate game and incident from the recent Diablo III reports. On September 15, 2026, during the launch of Season 15 / Season of Hell’s Legacy, Blizzard community manager filthierich first said login failures were under investigation, then announced a season delay. Later that day, the manager posted: “The hotfix has been deployed, and players can now log in to the game.” Blizzard’s Diablo IV Season 15 login incident thread also said Solo Self Found (SSF) remained under investigation and unavailable at that time.
That update resolves the dated Diablo IV login incident; it does not confirm Diablo III’s status or guarantee that Diablo IV has no later service issues.
