What Patch 2.01 fixed
CD PROJEKT RED’s Patch 2.01 notes, dated October 5, 2023, list this gameplay fix: “Addressed an issue that could cause V to become invulnerable to all damage.” That confirms the no-damage behavior was a recognized problem and that the developer addressed it in the patch.

The notes do not explain what triggered the issue, identify which missions or save files were affected, or promise that installing the patch will repair every existing save. They also do not provide a separate in-game setting or guaranteed workaround for a player who remains invulnerable.
What to do if V still takes no damage
- Check the installed game version. If you are on an older version, update through the official update mechanism for your platform. Patch 2.01 was released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
- Test again after updating. Load your game and check whether enemies and other damage sources can hurt V. The patch notes do not specify a particular test or guarantee a save repair, so this is a practical check rather than a confirmed fix procedure.
- Contact CD PROJEKT RED Support if the issue remains. Use the official support form to describe what happens and provide save files if requested. The form asks for details including platform, whether you own Phantom Liberty, when the playthrough began, and whether you used mods, trainers, or console commands.
At the time the support form was checked on October 8, 2026, it listed version 2.31 as the latest. That listing is dynamic, so check the form for the current version rather than treating 2.31 as a permanent latest-version claim.

Does Update 2.0, an old save, or a mod cause it?
The official material does not establish a specific cause for the invulnerability bug. Update 2.0 released on September 21, 2023, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. CD PROJEKT RED said players could continue existing saves, while recommending a new playthrough to get the best experience of the extensive changes. It also strongly recommended uninstalling pre-2.0 mods until they had been updated, warning that outdated mods could disrupt play or cause critical errors. Those are general Update 2.0 recommendations; they do not show that an old save or a mod caused this particular no-damage issue. See the publisher’s Update 2.0 announcement.
There is no official prevalence figure for the bug in the cited materials. Reports from individual players may describe different symptoms or workarounds, but they do not establish a universal cause or reliable fix.
