Khorovod was a limited-time Escape from Tarkov event listed on December 26, 2024. It added a Khorovod mode, a quest objective set in Interchange, Santa Claus appearances on most locations, and a Christmas Tree module in the Hideout. The official Escape from Tarkov Telegram channel later said the event and its related content would be disabled on January 15 at 9 AM GMT / 4 AM EST. This guide documents what the event contained and how it was reached. It is not a walkthrough for a current version, and the available information does not confirm a return.
What Khorovod contained
The event had three documented elements. Each one is described below as it appears in the event listing and the community-maintained quest reference.
The Khorovod mode
Khorovod was a separate mode that players could select from the map-selection screen. The event listing identifies it as the mode used for the Interchange quest objective. The available material does not describe how its maps, rules, or spawns differed from standard raids.
Santa Claus on most locations
The event listing says Santa Claus appeared on all locations except The Lab. It does not describe the appearance mechanics or whether the presence affected loot or AI behavior.

The community-maintained quest reference documents one access point: the mode could be reached from the upper-right corner of the map-selection screen. The material does not provide a full route through the event, so the steps below cover only the documented access and objective.

The Khorovod quest and its listed rewards
The quest reference lists one objective: “Reach Interchange in the Khorovod mode.” The quest page lists the following rewards:
- 18,000 EXP
- Prapor reputation
- Roubles, including 126,000 Roubles in the listing
- A weapon and ammunition
These are historical rewards as shown on a community-maintained quest reference. They are not measured figures, and the reference does not establish that every version of the event gave the same rewards. Check current in-game data before quoting them as definitive.

When Khorovod was disabled
The Escape from Tarkov Official Telegram channel announced the closing date in one sentence:
“The in-game event Khorovod in #EscapefromTarkov, as well as the in-game quest chain in #TarkovArena and the Christmas Tree module in the Hideout will be disabled on January 15 9AM GMT/ 4AM EST.”
That notice covered three things:
- The Khorovod event itself.
- The related quest chain in Tarkov Arena.
- The Christmas Tree module in the Hideout.
Once disabled, event quests could no longer be picked up or completed, and new crafts in the Christmas Tree module were unavailable. The excerpt of the notice does not state the year, so the January 15 date should be read without a confirmed year. Nothing in the available material confirms a current version of the event or a scheduled return.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Khorovod just a regular raid with extra quests?
Players often ask this, but the available material cannot answer it fully. The quest reference confirms that the objective was completed in the Khorovod mode. It does not explain how that mode differed from standard raids in maps, enemies, loot, or rules, so any direct comparison would go beyond what the sources establish.
What official announcements say about future events
The official Steam announcement material describes event formats in general terms, including short events and progression challenges. It does not promise a Khorovod rerun or a repeat of any specific seasonal event.
