World of Warcraft: Forever uses a 14-rank PvP progression track, with a different title ladder for the Alliance and Horde. Rank Points advance your rank; Honor is a separate currency for buying PvP items. The current guides say rank progress does not decay during a season, but ranks reset when a season ends.
How PvP rank progression works
Blizzard describes PvP progression as having two parts: Honor and Rank Points. Honor is earned through PvP activities such as defeating players, completing battlegrounds and relevant PvP quests, according to Blizzard’s October 7, 2026 announcement.
In the current system guide, Icy Veins explains that Rank Points fill your rank progression bar, while Honor pays for PvP items. Spending Honor does not reduce your Rank Points. Rank is described as an increasing-cost progression bar, not a contest in which you must outrank other players.
The 14 ranks and faction titles
Each rank has a title for each faction. The ladder below is listed in the September 2026 Icy Veins guide and cross-checked against Wowhead’s PvP overview.

Titles correspond to your current rank. The guides describe other rewards separately: some ranks offer cosmetics or unlock access to selected upgrades, with a mount reported at rank 11 and a weapon arsenal at rank 14. Wowhead reports that rare PvP Honor gear is not rank-gated, though some upgrades are.
Rank Points, season resets, and the reported rank cap
Icy Veins reports that rank 14 requires 24,750 Rank Points in total, with each successive rank requiring more points. The guide also says rank progress does not decay during a season, then resets at season end; it describes a separate Legacy Challenge track as persistent.

Treat the schedule as provisional rather than a confirmed official rule. Blizzard’s announcement confirms the two-part Honor and Rank Points design in its indexed excerpt; seasonal details and the rank threshold above are guide-reported.

The current Icy Veins guide contrasts Forever’s increasing-cost Rank Point bar with the original Classic system, where progression depended on relative ladder standing. Forever also separates rank advancement from spendable Honor. That means buying gear does not compete with earning rank, although reaching a rank can still unlock access to particular upgrades.
