Choose your platform first, then decide whether the base game is enough or whether the digital extras or a collector package are worth paying for. On PC, Square Enix publishes three tiers: Minimum targets 1080p at 30 FPS on Low, Recommended targets 1080p at 60 FPS on Medium, and Ultra targets 2160p at 60 FPS on High. Every published PC tier lists 16 GB of RAM and 155 GB of SSD storage. These are Square Enix’s own targets, not independent benchmark results, and the figures below are current as of early October 2026.
Which platforms carry FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH
Square Enix’s English overview currently lists the game on PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S. Its Japanese product page adds Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows as PC storefronts and lists physical and download editions. Edition choice varies by platform and storefront, so an edition shown for one platform may not be sold on another.
The Japanese product page gives these platform release dates. Keep the regional context when you quote them, because they are the dates as listed on that regional page:
- PlayStation 5: February 29, 2024
- Steam and Epic Games Store: January 23, 2025
- Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows: June 3, 2026
Editions compared
| Option | What Square Enix documents | Caveat for buyers |
|---|---|---|
| Standard (base) game | The game is offered on the listed platforms. The physical or download format depends on the storefront and platform. | Price and stock are not stated in the official material reviewed; check your local storefront. |
| Digital Deluxe | A digital art book and a digital mini-soundtrack, viewed through the Square Enix Digital Content Viewer. | Worth buying only if those two digital extras justify the price difference for you. |
| Digital Deluxe upgrade or Digital Deluxe Twin Pack | Square Enix’s FAQ says both include the same digital art book and mini-soundtrack. | Check the ownership requirements and the contents listed on your storefront before buying. |
| Deluxe and Collector’s | Square Enix’s Japanese product page lists these edition types. | The detailed contents come from an earlier launch announcement; confirm the current package and stock in your region. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 boxed copy | Square Enix labels the physical product a key card; the game downloads on first play. | Requires an internet connection and at least 105 GB of free space, according to the Japanese product page. |
Digital Deluxe and the Digital Content Viewer
The digital art book and mini-soundtrack are not physical items, so they are only accessible through the Square Enix Digital Content Viewer. If you are comparing Digital Deluxe with the standard game, the difference is those two digital files, not a separate version of the game.

Collector’s Edition contents
An earlier official launch announcement for the PlayStation 5 Collector’s Edition described a detailed Sephiroth figure, the Deluxe contents, and digital items. That announcement shows what the package contained at launch, but it does not prove the package is still sold today. Before recommending it, check the current regional listing and stock.
Switch 2 key card
A boxed Switch 2 copy does not contain the full game on the card. Square Enix describes it as a key card that downloads the game on first play. Plan for the download before you need to play, and confirm the card and storage details for your region, since the storage figure comes from the Japanese product page.

Pricing and stock
The official material reviewed does not establish a current price comparison across markets, so any figure from a launch announcement or a Japanese listing should not be treated as applying elsewhere. Before buying, check the following in your own storefront:
- The exact platform and version (base, Deluxe, Collector’s, Digital Deluxe, or Digital Deluxe upgrade).
- The listed contents, especially whether a digital bonus is included or downloaded separately.
- Current price and whether the item is in stock.
PC requirements by target
Square Enix publishes minimum and recommended specifications on its support page and in its product FAQ, and its English overview adds the Ultra tier. Each tier is tied to a specific resolution, frame rate, and quality preset, so read the target alongside the hardware.
Rank #3
| Official tier | Stated target | Operating system | CPU examples | GPU examples | Memory and storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 1080p, 30 FPS, Low | Windows 10 64-bit | AMD Ryzen 5 1400; Intel Core i3-8100 | AMD Radeon RX 6600 or later; Intel Arc A580; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or later RTX series | 16 GB RAM; 155 GB SSD |
| Recommended | 1080p, 60 FPS, Medium | Windows 11 64-bit | AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Ryzen 7 3700X; Intel Core i7-8700 or Core i5-10400 | AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 | 16 GB RAM; 155 GB SSD |

Technical requirements beyond the table
- Graphics API: The graphics card must support Shader Model 6.6 or later, and the operating system must support DirectX 12 Ultimate. The support page also lists DirectX 12.
- GPU memory: Square Enix recommends 12 GB or more of GPU memory when playing on a 4K monitor at the Minimum or Recommended tiers, and 16 GB or more for the Ultra 4K tier.
- Storage: The game requires an SSD. A hard drive is not listed as an option.
Choosing a tier
- If your monitor is 1080p and 30 FPS is acceptable, the Minimum tier describes the baseline.
- If you want 60 FPS at 1080p, aim for the Recommended tier, which specifies Windows 11 64-bit.
- If you play at 4K, the Ultra tier is the target Square Enix describes, and it expects at least 16 GB of GPU memory.
Square Enix does not publish benchmark results for these hardware examples, so treat the listed CPUs and GPUs as the company’s reference points rather than a promise of performance.

Square Enix says the PC version supports NVIDIA DLSS, which can raise frame rates and upscale the resolution. Variable refresh rate is supported, and frame rates up to 120 FPS are available on high-spec PC systems. The 120 FPS ceiling is a maximum for capable hardware, not a target every system will reach.

The game supports both DualSense controllers and keyboard and mouse, with customizable controls. A controller is not listed as a requirement, so keep your input choice separate from your hardware decision.
Do you need FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE first?
Square Enix’s official FAQ describes the game this way: “FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH is a standalone game that welcomes fans and newcomers alike.” The FAQ also says a story recap video for FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE is available in the in-game menu, which gives players who have not played Remake a way to catch up on the events leading into Rebirth.

Bottom line for buyers
Buy the platform you already play on, choose the base game unless the Digital Deluxe art book and mini-soundtrack matter to you, and treat the Collector’s package as a purchase to verify in your region. On PC, match the tier to your target resolution, frame rate, and monitor, and confirm that your system meets the Windows version, graphics API, GPU memory, and SSD requirements.
