The Khajiit caravan camp in Dawnstar sits outside the town, on the road near the inn, not inside a shop or building. Look left of the fast-travel arrival point and slightly behind it. Ahkari’s caravan moves between Dawnstar and Riften, so the camp is not always occupied when you arrive.
Where to look in Dawnstar
- Fast-travel to Dawnstar or walk into town from the road.
- Stand at the fast-travel arrival point and turn so that the inn is in view.
- Look to your left and a little behind you. The caravan camp is in that area, along the road, outside the town walls.
- If the camp is occupied, Ahkari will be there with her wares and her Khajiit companions.
The landmark above comes from player reports rather than an official map coordinate, so treat it as a practical orientation point. If you are unsure, walk slowly along the road beside the inn and check each area near the arrival point before moving farther out.
Why the camp may be empty
Ahkari’s caravan is not fixed in one spot. It travels between Dawnstar and Riften and typically stops at Whiterun on that route. When the caravan is on the road, the Dawnstar camp will be empty, and you will need to find her elsewhere or come back later.
- If the camp is empty, check the road near Dawnstar again after some time has passed, since the caravan may be on its way back.
- Check Whiterun, the caravan’s usual intermediate stop, if you need to find her quickly.
- Riften is the other end of the route, so it is another place to look if you are tracking her movement.
No published source gives a reliable arrival schedule or timing pattern, so you should plan around the possibility that she is elsewhere rather than expecting her at a fixed hour.

What Ahkari offers
Ahkari is a merchant. She sells weapons, apparel, potions, ingredients, and miscellaneous goods. A published guide also lists Pickpocket training among her services, which is useful if you are building that skill.

In short, go to the road beside the Dawnstar inn, look left and slightly behind the fast-travel arrival point, and expect the camp to be empty whenever Ahkari is travelling on her route.
