The Wccftech report, published October 8, 2026, describes a pipeline in which static scenery is converted into RTX Remix’s native format while dynamic geometry is streamed live from the game running in shadPS4, a PlayStation 4 emulator for PC. The creator says the work still has significant unresolved problems and that any releasable version would be a long way off.
What the footage shows
According to the Wccftech report by Francesco De Meo, the video comes from YouTuber gabdeg, who calls it “an early proof of concept.” The core of the method is a split between two kinds of geometry:
- Static geometry such as walls, architecture and fixed props is converted into RTX Remix’s native format, so the path-tracing system can treat it as a stable scene.
- Dynamic geometry such as characters, enemies and moving objects is streamed from Bloodborne as it runs in shadPS4, rather than being converted in advance.
That split explains why the experiment is hard. Converted scenery can be lit once and reused, but anything that moves has to be handled in real time, and each mismatch between the two layers is a potential visual error.
How the creator and the outlet assess the result
The report calls the lighting transformative in some scenes. That is Wccftech’s visual judgment of the clips, not an objective measure, and it is not a sign that the enhancement is finished. The same report says the implementation is rough, particularly in sections of Central Yharnam, the hub area where the lighting problems are most visible.
#1 Best Overall
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Powered by GeForce RTX 5060
- Integrated with 8GB GDDR7 128bit memory interface
- PCIe 5.0
- WINDFORCE cooling system
The creator’s own caveat is the most important statement in the coverage. As quoted by Wccftech, gabdeg says: “This is not a project announcement, and if it ever turns into something releasable, it wouldn’t be out for a long time as there are still many issues that would need fixing.”
What is not established
The available reporting and linked documentation do not establish any of the following for the RTX Remix proof of concept:
Rank #2
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Powered by GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
- Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface
- PCIe 5.0
- WINDFORCE cooling system
- A release date or completion commitment.
- A publicly playable build or installer.
- A confirmed hardware target or minimum GPU.
- Any performance benchmark, frame-rate figure or stability measurement.
- Any official involvement from FromSoftware or Sony.
The creator’s caveat means there is no announced project and no near-term release. It does not mean the work will never reach players, and readers should treat any later claim about availability as unverified until the creator or a primary source confirms it.
Why the PC context matters, and where it stops
The report places the experiment within PC play through shadPS4, and mentions a PC port that uses the PS4 emulator to reduce CPU overhead. That is technical background. It does not describe an official PC edition of Bloodborne, and it does not mean the path-tracing work is ready for general use.

The bbport Linux runtime
The deadinside28/bloodborne_pc repository documents an experimental native Linux runtime for the PlayStation 4 Bloodborne executable, identified as game ID CUSA03173, version 1.09. The project requires your own decrypted game dump, states that no game files are included, and warns that a full play-through has not been verified. Its author reports thorough testing on only one Linux machine with an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT. That is a test note for that runtime, not a requirement for the RTX Remix experiment, and it should not be read as a performance result for path tracing.
BB Reborne DIY
The Serotoniner/BB_Reborne_DIY repository is a separate visual-overhaul project. It is a Windows tool that locally generates altered game files, and it requires a legally obtained v1.09 dump, shadPS4 v0.15.1 or newer, at least 100 GB of free disk space, and a modern GPU capable of running AI upscaling tools. Those requirements belong to that tool alone.

How the three projects compare
| Project | What it is | Platform stated | Status stated | Stated requirements |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RTX Remix path-tracing proof of concept | Early lighting experiment converting static geometry and streaming dynamic geometry from shadPS4 | PC, via shadPS4 (Wccftech, October 8, 2026) | Proof of concept; creator says it is not a project announcement | Not stated |
| bbport (deadinside28/bloodborne_pc) | Experimental native Linux runtime for the PS4 executable | Linux | Experimental; full play-through not verified | User’s own decrypted v1.09 dump; one tested machine with AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT (repository test note) |
| BB Reborne DIY (Serotoniner/BB_Reborne_DIY) | Visual-overhaul generator for altered game files | Windows | Tool documentation as published in its repository | Legal v1.09 dump; shadPS4 v0.15.1 or newer; at least 100 GB free; modern GPU for AI upscaling |
Because the three projects are different kinds of work, the table should not be read as a ranking. The only rows with comparable hardware data are the two community tools, and their figures do not transfer to the path-tracing footage.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What readers are saying
Reaction in the r/BloodbornePC discussion is split. Some commenters say the lighting looks better, while others worry it undercuts the original atmosphere. One wrote that they wish it “kept the dark and moody atmosphere that Bloodborne has,” and another said they would like to see the project “taken to completion.” These are individual comments, not a poll, and they show the debate rather than a measure of community consensus.
What to take from the footage
The clearest reading is that the RTX Remix path-tracing work is a demonstration that the approach can change how Bloodborne‘s lighting looks, with clear rough edges in some areas and a debate about whether the result suits the game’s mood. It is not a mod to install, and no release timeline exists in the evidence. For players who want the original experience, the game itself remains the only item in this story that is directly available.
