What is the LEGO PlayStation set?
Set 72306 recreates the original PlayStation console and its controller as a near-1:1-scale display model. LEGO describes it as an 18+ build with 1,911 pieces. The scale description refers to the console replica; use the published assembled dimensions below to judge whether it will fit your shelf.
The set is designed for display and hands-on interaction, not gameplay. Its buttons operate as part of the model, but it does not play discs or run games.
What is included, and what actually works?
- Functional Open and Power buttons: LEGO says the console’s buttons work as interactive features of the build.
- Plug-in brick-built controller: The controller connects to the console as a display detail; it is not an electronic game controller.
- Hidden game dioramas: The console conceals buildable scenes inspired by Gran Turismo and Ape Escape.
These details make the model more than a static shell, but none turns it into a functioning PlayStation.

How much space does it need?
LEGO lists the assembled model at over 6 cm high, 26 cm wide and 19 cm deep. The 26 cm width is the key shelf-planning figure; allow additional room if you want to access the buttons or remove the controller comfortably. These are manufacturer-published dimensions, not an independent measurement.

LEGO named LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and select retailers as sales channels. Sony separately said the set would be available through PlayStation Direct in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Portugal from October 1, 2026. That is Sony’s stated channel and country list for the launch; it does not confirm present stock.

Is set 72306 right for you?
- Consider it if you want a substantial display build tied to the original PlayStation, have room for a 26 cm-wide model, and value the interactive buttons and concealed game scenes.
- Look elsewhere if you want a playable console, an electronic controller, or a model that takes up less shelf space.
- Check before checkout if you are buying after launch: stock and actual prices are retailer- and date-dependent, so an announced launch schedule cannot establish what is available now.
