CD PROJEKT RED’s published PC targets, dated June 11, 2023, range from 1080p Low to 4K RT Overdrive. The game also supports account-based cross-progression and community mods, but each has practical limits: only the latest save of each type is uploaded, and mods must match your game version.

The publisher described the FPS figures as expected averages based on internal testing and cautioned that results vary with hardware and software configuration, resolution, and graphics settings.

The Overdrive target used DLSS Frame Generation. A PC audio solution containing Dolby Atmos is required for a Dolby Atmos experience. Consult the official PC requirements announcement for the publisher’s full context.
How to choose a tier
- Start with the resolution and preset you actually plan to use; the minimum tier is a 1080p Low target, not a high-quality recommendation.
- Check both graphics-card model and VRAM, along with system RAM and CPU. A match on just one component does not establish that your whole PC matches a tier.
- Decide whether you want ray tracing or Overdrive. Those targets are separate from the non-RT tiers and call for different hardware.
- Treat the listed FPS as the publisher’s expected averages, not a guarantee for your individual PC. Your measured performance can vary with configuration and settings.
Is an SSD required?
Yes. Update 2.0 made the revised requirements effective and states that SSD storage is required. CD PROJEKT RED advised against an HDD—and against SD-card use on Steam Deck—because lower bandwidth could prevent new content from streaming properly. The published tiers specify a 70 GB SSD for Minimum and Recommended, and a 70 GB NVMe drive for the Ultra and higher RT tiers; compare your existing storage with the tier you want before considering an upgrade. Does Cyberpunk 2077 have cross-saves between PC and console?
Yes. Cross-progression is tied to a CD PROJEKT RED account. Sign in from the main menu or the in-game Load Game menu to activate it; the game uploads the latest save for each save type, such as Quick, Auto, and Manual. This is not an unlimited cloud archive of every save. The publisher’s Patch 1.6 notes describe the save behavior, and its My Rewards page also describes transferring progress between PC and consoles.
Moving a save to another platform
- Launch the game on the platform holding the save and sign in to your CD PROJEKT RED account from the main menu or Load Game menu.
- Load or create the save you want to continue from, then allow cross-progression to upload the latest save for its save type.
- Launch the game on the destination platform and sign in to the same account. Check the Load Game menu for the uploaded save.
Patch 2.13, dated September 12, 2024, says cross-progression still functions despite a PC/console version mismatch. That does not establish that every platform, region, edition, or save will always be compatible. Patch 2.02 says saves above the maximum console save size are blocked from upload to avoid crashes and import problems; Patch 1.6 also notes that console versions may have regional restrictions. How do you install Cyberpunk 2077 mods?
REDmod is free DLC that adds integrated mod loading and official tools for creating game content. It is not required for every community mod: follow the installation instructions for the specific mod you want. REDmod-compatible mods use the game’s Cyberpunk 2077mods folder and an info.json manifest. Once REDmod is installed, those mods can be toggled in REDlauncher or GOG Galaxy. Older mods placed in the archive folder can still load but do not appear in the REDmod menu.
Using Nexus Mods and Vortex
- Add Cyberpunk 2077 to the Games tab in your Nexus Mods account.
- Install Vortex and sign in through the app.
- Follow the individual mod’s instructions. Use the
modsfolder and manifest for REDmod-compatible files; do not assume every mod uses REDmod. - After installing the REDmod DLC, toggle compatible mods in REDlauncher or GOG Galaxy as appropriate for your launcher.
CD PROJEKT RED’s official modding support and FAQ names GOG, Steam, and Epic launchers. Its FAQ says REDmod is automatically installed with the Epic Games Store version 1.6 or later rather than offered there as a separate download.

Check compatibility before updating or troubleshooting
Check each mod’s stated game-version compatibility and update status before installing it. The publisher’s Update 2.0 notes gave historical, version-specific guidance to remove pre-2.0 mods until their creators updated them, because outdated mods could disrupt gameplay or cause critical errors; that warning does not mean every current mod is unsafe.
Community mods are not reviewed or maintained by CD PROJEKT RED, which directs mod-specific troubleshooting to the mod creator and notes it may not support a modified game. The publisher’s modding FAQ states: “Cyberpunk 2077 mods are created by the community and not reviewed by CD PROJEKT RED.”
