Is Pokémon GO available in Pakistan?
Yes. Niantic announced on December 13, 2016, that players in Pakistan could officially download and play Pokémon GO through the App Store and Google Play. Some older reports may say the game was unavailable. A Pakistan government advisory in 2016 made that claim before Niantic’s December launch announcement, so it does not describe the current situation. Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication published that historical advisory.
What do you do in Pokémon GO?
Pokémon GO is a location-based mobile game. You explore the real world with the game open, encounter and catch Pokémon, and collect items by spinning Photo Discs at PokéStops and Gyms. You can also hatch Eggs, build your Pokédex, choose a Buddy Pokémon, play with a team, and take part in battles and raids. The game’s official website describes these activities.

In practical terms, the first loop is simple: open the map, move around safely, catch Pokémon you encounter, and visit nearby PokéStops to replenish useful items. Features such as raids and team play add activities beyond catching and collecting.
What phone and connection do you need?
The game needs a compatible smartphone, GPS and location services, and a strong internet connection. Niantic’s supported-device baseline is iPhone 6s or later running iOS 15 or later, or Android 9 or later, with at least 2 GB of RAM. Niantic cautions that meeting these criteria does not guarantee compatibility with every device. Check the supported devices page and your storefront listing for current requirements.

The Pakistan App Store listing specifies iOS 15.0 or later and an internet connection. Requirements and compatibility can change as the game is updated, so a phone that meets a baseline may still have device-specific issues. The available information does not establish that every Pakistani network or payment method will work identically.

- Open the official Apple App Store or Google Play Store on your phone and find Pokémon GO. Install it from the official listing for your account region; avoid modified clients, unofficial APK sites, location spoofers, and account-sharing services.
- Allow location access when prompted and make sure your phone can connect to the internet. GPS and location services are necessary for the map-based play.
- Open the game and follow its on-screen setup. Explore the map, catch Pokémon you encounter, and spin Photo Discs at PokéStops and Gyms to collect items.
- Play only from a safe place. Stop before looking at the screen, keep out of roads and private or restricted property, and never play while driving.
The official Pokémon GO website’s safety instruction is: “During gameplay, please be aware of your surroundings and play safely.” The steps above turn that advice into practical outdoor precautions.

Does Pokémon GO cost money?
Basic gameplay is free, and optional in-game purchases are available. You can begin playing without buying anything. The Pakistan iOS listing showed these example PokéCoin bundles when checked; they are a time-sensitive storefront snapshot, not guaranteed prices:

Do you need Pokémon GO Plus +?
No. Pokémon GO Plus + is an optional accessory, not a requirement for playing. Nintendo says it can spin PokéStops and throw Poké Balls automatically, including certain higher-tier Balls. It cannot work on its own: it requires a compatible smart device with the Pokémon GO app. See Nintendo’s Pokémon GO Plus + information.

Pokémon Support lists the accessory as compatible with Pokémon GO and Pokémon Sleep, and gives accessory requirements of iOS 13 or later and Android 8.0 or later. Those are accessory requirements, not replacements for the game’s current phone requirements. Check Pokémon Support’s compatibility information before buying.
