Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIf you want a place to track the games you play, review them, and follow friends, Prysm is a current iPhone and Android app built around that idea. The “Letterboxd for video games” label describes a type of tracker, not one official category—and Prysm is a close fit, though Backloggd remains a notable web-first alternative.
What “Letterboxd for video games” means
Letterboxd-style game tracking combines a personal record of what you have played with ways to rate or review games and see what other people are playing. Depending on the service, that can include lists for games you have completed, are playing, have paused, or want to get to, as well as play-session logs and social features. It is a useful comparison, not a standardized product category.

How Prysm works
Track a library and backlog
Prysm lets users save games in statuses such as backlog, playing, completed, and paused. Its social feed supports reviews, trophy posts, questions, and memes, along with polls, likes, comments, reposts, and following friends. Prysm says these social features are not paywalled; its product page states, “Friends, posts, polls and the feed are never behind the paywall.” Prysm’s official site

Save games discovered in videos
You can share a TikTok or YouTube link to Prysm. The app says it reads the title and caption and may inspect the video, then asks you to confirm which game it identified; it keeps the source video with the game page. A Chrome extension also adds a “Save to Prysm” control on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram pages. These are product features described by Prysm, not a guarantee that every clip will be identified correctly.
Prysm reports that, in its own September 2026 test, 19 of 21 real gaming TikTok links returned a confident match. That is a small, company-reported test—not an independent benchmark or evidence of accuracy across all videos. Prysm’s official site
Find something to play
Beyond tracking, Prysm describes search using a remembered scene, character, or general description. Its backlog roulette suggests a game based on available time and preferred game size. The app also lists badges, seasonal challenges, and reminders for upcoming release dates.

Imports, platforms, and privacy considerations
Prysm’s official page lists imports from Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Android. The company says Steam linking can show owned games and play hours, detect sessions, warn when you reach a self-set limit, and pass through achievements. PlayStation game and trophy imports depend on a public PSN trophy list; Xbox imports use Microsoft sign-in; Android imports find installed games. Prysm says Nintendo imports are not supported. These details come from the product publisher and may change. Prysm’s official site

In particular, the stated PlayStation import depends on a public trophy list, while Xbox requires Microsoft sign-in. The available product information does not establish every permission requested in each flow, so review the prompts in the app before approving access.
Free limits and Pro
Prysm’s free tier includes up to 50 games, friends, challenges, five video-link shares per day, and one backlog roulette roll per day, with ads. The optional Pro tier removes the limits and ads, including the roll limit. Prysm directs users to the App Store or Google Play for current Pro pricing, so the cost depends on the store listing and region; no single price is established here. Prysm’s official site

Backloggd is a relevant alternative if you want to catalog games, log playthroughs, review titles, and follow other users. A January 2024 Lifehacker roundup called it the closest thing its author had found to a “Letterboxd for video games.” That is dated context, not a current hands-on comparison. The practical distinction described by the available sources is access: Prysm presents itself as an iPhone and Android app, while Prysm’s own site says Backloggd remains a website and that native iOS and Android apps are on its public roadmap as of September 2026. Because that availability statement comes from Prysm, check Backloggd directly for its current status before choosing. Neither service is a universal winner: consider where you want to use it, which friends will join, what import connections you need, and whether the free limits work for you.
