How to start A Theft of Ivory
At the Ardura Caravan, speak with Sekhema Asala to unlock the quest. Then use the Desert Map to travel to Mastodon Badlands.

Where to find the Mastodon Tusks
- Travel to Mastodon Badlands from the Desert Map.
- Locate the Bone Pits and search the area for the Mastodon Tusks.
- Follow the quest objective into the Blackrib Pit, where you encounter Iktab, the Deathlord, and Ekbab, Ancient Steed.
- Defeat the bosses and retrieve the tusks.
- Return to the Ardura Caravan and speak with Zarka to complete the quest.
Area navigation can be less direct than the objective list suggests: the quest walkthrough places the search in the Bone Pits, while the broader Act 2 walkthrough identifies the boss encounter site as Blackrib Pit. Follow the quest marker through the area toward the encounter.

Quest reward
Completing the quest awards an Uncut Support Gem and 400 Gold, according to the quest-specific walkthrough. The available sources disagree about the gem’s level, so check the reward text in your current game version rather than relying on a level listed elsewhere.

How A Theft of Ivory fits into the Horn of the Vastiri questline
This is one of three quests tied to recreating the Horn of the Vastiri, alongside The City of Seven Waters and A Crown of Stone. Complete all three, then receive the Horn from Zarka. Use it at the sandstorm to open the route onward. Zarka’s in-game response to the tusks is: “These tusks are truly worthy of Orbala’s steed!”
