The laptop in question is the Acer Nitro V 15 ANV15-51-73B9, with a Core i7-13620H, RTX 4050, 16GB of RAM and a 144Hz-class Full HD display. Acer’s U.S. store currently lists it at $999.99 and out of stock, so treat $749 as a target price to verify at checkout—not as an active offer.
The original deal article was published April 28, 2025. Its headline and callout say $749, while its opening paragraph says $849.99, down from $999.99. That contradiction makes the exact historical transaction price unclear.
What the original $749 deal actually covered
The offer referred to the Acer Nitro V 15 model ANV15-51-73B9, Acer part number NH.QN8AA.003. Acer’s current product page confirms the configuration but shows it as out of stock at $999.99: Acer Nitro V 15 ANV15-51-73B9.
The $749 figure comes from the April 28, 2025 deal report at Android Headlines. Because that report also states $849.99 in its opening text, and because Acer no longer shows new stock, neither price should be presented as a live 2026 checkout price. An Amazon listing for the exact model exists at Amazon, but its current price, seller, condition and inventory are not established here.

What gaming performance to expect
Best suited to 1080p
The RTX 4050 Laptop GPU places this system in the entry-level-to-midrange 1080p category. It is designed for playing modern games at the laptop’s native resolution, with settings adjusted according to the title. More demanding releases may need reduced visual quality, upscaling or frame-generation features.
Rank #2
- 15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) widescreen LED-backlit IPS display with 165Hz Refresh Rate
- Intel Core i5-13420H Processor - up to 4.6GHz, 8 cores, 12 threads, 12MB Intel Smart Cache
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU with 8GB of dedicated GDDR7 VRAM
- Massive 16GB DDR4 memory and fast 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage for accelerated load times and seamless performance.
- 1 - USB Type-C Port USB 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps) DisplayPort over USB Type-C, Thunderbolt 4 & USB Charging (Up to 65W)
What the 144Hz panel can and cannot do
A 144Hz screen is most useful when a game can produce high frame rates. Competitive games and less demanding titles are more likely to benefit than graphically intensive new releases. A 144Hz label does not establish brightness, color coverage, response-time behavior or outdoor readability.
Limits of the RTX 4050 configuration
The 6GB of VRAM is workable for current 1080p gaming but leaves less headroom for very high texture settings and future releases than an RTX 4060-class laptop. Actual performance also varies with the laptop’s power limits, cooling, drivers, game settings and whether it is connected to AC power.

Why $749 would have been attractive
At a genuine $749.99 new price, the combination of a Core i7-13620H, RTX 4050, 16GB DDR5, 512GB SSD and high-refresh Full HD display would be a strong budget gaming package. The 16GB memory is a sensible starting point for modern games and everyday productivity, while the NVIDIA GPU also supports entry-level creative workloads that benefit from CUDA or RTX acceleration.
The value drops quickly above that threshold. At $849.99, the Nitro V may still be reasonable, but newer laptops with RTX 4050 or RTX 5050 graphics, 1TB storage or stronger displays deserve comparison. Near $999.99, the older 13th-generation platform and RTX 4050 make a newer competing machine the more logical first search.

Trade-offs buyers should understand
- Older platform: The Core i7-13620H is a 13th-generation Intel processor, while newer gaming laptops may offer more recent CPUs at similar prices.
- Limited storage: A 512GB SSD can fill quickly when modern games occupy tens or hundreds of gigabytes.
- Entry-level RTX graphics: RTX 4050 performance is materially below RTX 4060-class hardware, especially in demanding games.
- Budget construction: Expect functional rather than premium materials, speakers, webcam, touchpad and battery performance unless an independent review proves otherwise.
- Display unknowns: Full HD resolution and 144Hz refresh do not guarantee strong color accuracy or brightness.
- Plugged-in gaming: Gaming-laptop performance generally falls away from the charger; this is not a desktop replacement for battery gaming.
- Availability risk: Acer’s out-of-stock status means marketplace units could be old inventory, third-party stock or refurbished machines.
Buy, compare or skip by price
| Verified checkout price | Recommendation | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| About $749 | Buy if the configuration and condition check out | Compelling 1080p value for a new unit with a trustworthy warranty. |
| About $850 | Compare first | Still usable, but newer RTX 4050/5050 laptops, RTX 4060 models or 1TB systems may offer more value. |
| Near $1,000 | Generally skip | The platform’s age and RTX 4050 GPU make newer hardware worth investigating. |
Checklist before ordering
- Match the full model number: ANV15-51-73B9, not merely “Nitro V.”
- Confirm the listing specifies an RTX 4050 Laptop GPU with 6GB dedicated memory.
- Confirm 16GB DDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD; other ANV15-51 variants may use different components.
- Check that the display is the advertised 15.6-inch 1920×1080 IPS panel and, where promised, 144Hz.
- Identify the seller and fulfillment method, especially on marketplace listings.
- Verify whether the unit is new, used, open-box or manufacturer refurbished. A refurbished listing, such as the one at Target, does not validate a new-laptop deal.
- Read the return window and warranty terms, including any seller-specific exclusions.
- Calculate the final total after shipping, sales tax and membership requirements.
- Do not assume every Nitro V configuration has identical upgrade or internal expansion options.
Who should buy this laptop?
- Students wanting one Windows computer for school and 1080p gaming.
- Players prioritizing dedicated NVIDIA graphics at a low price.
- Users doing light-to-moderate editing or other GPU-assisted creative work.
- Buyers comfortable with a budget chassis, limited SSD capacity and plugged-in gaming.
Who should choose something else?
- Gamers targeting QHD resolution, high-end ray tracing or consistently maximum settings.
- Anyone needing long battery life, a premium chassis or quiet acoustics.
- Professional creators who require a color-accurate display.
- Buyers needing more than 512GB immediately.
- Shoppers paying close to $1,000 or considering a refurbished unit without clear warranty coverage.
Bottom line
The Acer Nitro V ANV15-51-73B9 was a convincing deal at a verified new price around $749, but the $749 headline is historical and conflicted with the original article’s $849.99 wording. Acer now lists the model at $999.99 and out of stock. Buy only if a live listing confirms the exact model, new condition, seller protections and a final price near $749; otherwise, compare newer RTX 4050, RTX 5050 or RTX 4060 laptops.
