What happened in the EngineOwning case?
Activision Publishing, Inc. sued EngineOwning UG and other defendants in Activision Publishing, Inc. v. EngineOwning UG et al., No. 2:22-cv-00051, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. The motion for default judgment lists the complaint as filed January 4, 2022, and an amended complaint filed September 16, 2022. Activision alleged that the defendants’ software enabled cheating in Call of Duty and other Activision Blizzard games.
Activision’s April 12, 2024 motion said the named defendants had been served, defaults had been entered, and they had not defended the case. That makes this a default-judgment proceeding, not a jury verdict following a contested trial. Activision’s motion for default judgment

Was there a separate judgment against Manuel Santiago?
Yes. A separate consent judgment in the same case addressed defendant Manuel T. Santiago. It included a permanent injunction covering specified conduct involving cheating and spoofing software, including certain development, promotion, sale, distribution, and assistance. It also required reasonable action to disable certain social accounts and remove distribution information.
