adlmact_libfnp.dll is an Autodesk licensing component used by older Autodesk products through the FlexNet Publisher licensing system. If adlmact_libfnp.dll is missing, not found, or could not be loaded, repair the Autodesk installation and its matching licensing files rather than downloading a loose DLL.
The file is not a Windows component. Do not copy it into C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64, and do not normally register it with regsvr32. The safest repair is to restore the complete licensing package from the Autodesk installer, the correct service pack, or Autodesk’s official support package.

Fix 1: Reinstall the Autodesk service pack
Time needed: 10–20 minutes
This is the most likely fix when the error began after uninstalling an Autodesk service pack, particularly on a computer with multiple Autodesk 2014 products or service packs. Autodesk documents this situation as a licensing-file mismatch.
- Close every Autodesk application.
- Press Windows key + R, type
appwiz.cpl, and press Enter. - Select View installed updates.
- Review the Autodesk entries and identify the service pack intended to remain installed.
- Download that service pack from Autodesk’s official product support or account page.
- Run the service-pack installer as an administrator. Right-click it, select Show more options if necessary, choose Run as administrator, and follow the prompts.
- Restart Windows.
- Launch the affected Autodesk product.

Autodesk documents the licensing directory as:
C:Program FilesCommon FilesAutodesk SharedAdLMR7
Do not replace only adlmact_libFNP.dll with a file from another release. For Autodesk 2014 products, the documented matching combination includes adlmact.dll version 7.0.51.100 and adlmact_libFNP.dll version 11.11.0.3. Those versions are not automatically correct for every Autodesk release.
How to tell it worked: the Autodesk application reaches its normal sign-in, activation, or drawing workspace instead of displaying the ADLM error.
If the service-pack installer fails or the error remains, continue with the complete licensing-file repair below.

Time needed: 15–30 minutes
Autodesk provides a support attachment named LicenseCrash.zip for the documented service-pack mismatch. Use the package from Autodesk’s official support article, not a third-party DLL archive.
- Close all Autodesk programs.
- Download the
LicenseCrash.zippackage from Autodesk support. - Choose the archive matching the installed Windows and Autodesk product architecture.
- Extract the archive to a temporary folder such as your Desktop.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Select Services.
- Find FlexNet Licensing Service.
- Right-click it and choose Stop. If the service is not running, continue.
- Open the Autodesk licensing directory:

- Create a backup folder elsewhere and copy the existing licensing files into it.
- Replace the matching set from the extracted Autodesk package:

Some 64-bit packages use FNPLicensingService64.exe instead.

- Restart Windows.
- Start the Autodesk product again.
Use the complete set from one package. Do not combine a 32-bit file with a 64-bit package, and do not mix files from different Autodesk releases or service-pack levels.

How to tell it worked: the product starts without the ADLM initialization message. If Windows reports that a file is in use, restart Windows, stop the FlexNet service again, and repeat the replacement with administrator permission.
Fix 3: Repair the Autodesk product
Time needed: 10–30 minutes
A damaged or incomplete Autodesk installation can remove or corrupt the licensing files.
- Press Windows key + I.
- Select Apps, then Installed apps on Windows 11. On Windows 10, select Apps and then Apps & features.
- Find the affected Autodesk product.
- Select the three-dot menu on Windows 11, or select the product entry on Windows 10.
- Choose Modify, Repair, or Change, depending on what the installer provides.
- Approve the administrator prompt.
- Select Repair and complete the wizard.
- Restart Windows and test the application.
If no repair option is available, uninstall and reinstall the product using its original Autodesk installer or official installation media. Save any custom settings and confirm that you have the required product license information before uninstalling.
How to tell it worked: the repair recreates the Autodesk licensing directory and the application starts normally.
If the repair completes but the file disappears again, check antivirus quarantine before reinstalling repeatedly.
Fix 4: Check antivirus quarantine and blocked files
Time needed: 5–15 minutes
Security software can quarantine or block an Autodesk licensing component. Autodesk lists antivirus and endpoint-security interference as a possible licensing failure.
- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection history.
- Look for an event involving
adlmact_libFNP.dll, another Autodesk licensing file, or the FlexNet service. - Confirm that the detected file belongs to the Autodesk installation you are repairing.
- Restore it only if the Autodesk source and file location are clear.
- Run the Autodesk repair or service-pack installer again.
- If your organization uses separate endpoint-security software, ask its administrator to review quarantine and blocking events.
- Add an exclusion only according to your security policy and Autodesk’s guidance.
Do not restore a DLL downloaded from an unknown source. If the file was already replaced manually, remove that copy and repair the Autodesk installation from its official source.

Fix 5: Repair Windows components
Time needed: 15–45 minutes
Use this step when several applications have startup problems or Windows itself reports component corruption. SFC and DISM repair Windows files. They do not reconstruct an Autodesk licensing DLL, so this is not the first repair for an isolated adlmact_libFNP.dll error.
- Open Start and type
cmd. - Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Run:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Run:
text
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Run the Autodesk repair or service-pack installer again.
Microsoft documents DISM and System File Checker as Windows repair tools. If SFC reports that it could not repair some files, run DISM again, restart, and repeat SFC. Do not expect either command to supply Autodesk’s third-party licensing files.
If manually repeating DISM and SFC leaves you unsure which Windows component changed, Outbyte PC Repair can scan for issues and show what needs attention; its repair actions are handled by the full version, and it is not required for Autodesk repair.
How to tell it worked: Windows reports that protected system files were repaired, and the Autodesk installer can complete without errors. If the Autodesk error remains, return to the Autodesk repair and matching-file steps.
Fix 6: Update related drivers only when startup is broadly affected
Time needed: 15–30 minutes
A graphics or system-driver problem can cause an Autodesk application to freeze or crash, but it is not the normal cause of a missing Autodesk licensing DLL. Use this step when the program opens far enough to display a blank window, freezes during loading, or other graphics applications also fail.
- Right-click the Start button.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the graphics adapter.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows.
- If Windows finds nothing, install the driver from the computer or graphics-device manufacturer’s official support channel.
- Test Autodesk again.
Do not replace adlmact_libFNP.dll with a driver file or place it in a driver directory.

How to tell it worked: the broader loading or display problem disappears. If only the ADLM message remains, continue troubleshooting the Autodesk licensing package.
Fix 7: Check Windows Features only for a separate runtime error
Time needed: 5–10 minutes
Windows Features are not the normal repair for adlmact_libFNP.dll. Do not enable random features to replace a missing Autodesk file.

Check them only if the Autodesk installer or application reports a separate requirement:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type
optionalfeaturesand press Enter. - Review the feature named in the Autodesk installer or error message.
- Enable only that named feature.
- Select OK and restart if Windows requests it.
Visual C++, DirectX, and .NET can affect other Autodesk startup failures, but they are not the documented owner of this DLL. Install or repair those components only when the Autodesk installer specifically requires them.
Fix 8: Do not use regsvr32 for this licensing DLL
Time needed: 2 minutes
regsvr32 registers DLLs that expose a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. It is not a general-purpose missing-DLL installer, and an Autodesk licensing library may not support registration.
If you run:
regsvr32 adlmact_libFNP.dll
you may receive an error stating that the module was loaded but the entry point was not found. That does not repair the Autodesk licensing chain.
Use the Autodesk installer, service pack, repair workflow, or official licensing package instead. Microsoft’s regsvr32 documentation explains its registration purpose, but it does not make this file a candidate for manual registration.

A freeze at Checking License is not automatically a missing-DLL problem. Autodesk lists licensing problems, antivirus interference, permissions, Visual C++ libraries, and damaged installations as possible causes.
Try these checks in order:
- Close the application and restart Windows.
- Check antivirus quarantine.
- Run the Autodesk repair.
- Confirm that the FlexNet Licensing Service is present and can start.
- Check permissions on the Autodesk Common Files directory.
- Test with the Autodesk service pack that matches the installed product.
- Review Event Viewer by pressing Windows key + X, selecting Event Viewer, and checking Windows Logs > Application for an error at the time of the freeze.
For older Autodesk 2014 and 2015 products, an Internet-connection or activation message can also relate to obsolete licensing security or TLS behavior. That is a separate licensing-hotfix issue, not proof that adlmact_libFNP.dll is missing.
What usually causes this error

The strongest documented scenario is a mismatch caused by uninstalling one service pack while another Autodesk product or service pack remains installed. A loose DLL download does not correct that mismatch.

The strongest documented association is older Autodesk products using the ADLM licensing layer and FlexNet Publisher, especially Autodesk 2014 products and AutoCAD-derived applications. The filename is not universal across every program that may use FlexNet technology.
Is version 11.11.0.3 always correct?
