What Adventure of Tech VI is
Adventure of Tech VI is Tralty’s technology-and-exploration-focused Minecraft Java modpack. CurseForge places it in the Tech, Adventure and RPG, Multiplayer, Combat/PvP, and Quests categories. Its design combines resource gathering, base building and decoration, machinery, exploration, combat, and a guided quest book rather than leaving progression entirely open-ended.

Current release files and compatibility
The files below are the release artifacts identified for the current version. The client and server archives are different products; downloading one does not substitute for the other.

Do not combine this release with a different Minecraft version, another mod loader, or files from an older Adventure of Tech release. A client can appear to launch while still failing to connect because one mod, configuration file, or loader build differs. Treat the four-part identity—Minecraft 26.1.2, NeoForge, Adventure of Tech VI, and v0.5.1—as a single compatibility target.
Before you install: a compatibility checklist
- Confirm that the launcher profile is for Minecraft Java Edition, not Bedrock Edition.
- Select Minecraft 26.1.2 and NeoForge for the profile.
- Download the v0.5.1 client archive for every player who will join.
- Download the v0.5.1 server pack only when you are operating a dedicated server.
- Keep a copy of any existing world outside the instance or server directory before replacing files.
- Plan where you will store backups, logs, configuration changes, and the server’s world data.
The official project pages do not state a Java runtime version, minimum or recommended memory allocation, operating-system commands, or a required network port. Those details must be checked against the scripts and documentation included in the server pack and against the NeoForge and Minecraft requirements for your installation. Do not treat an internet guide for another pack as an authoritative requirement for this one.
Installing the client
Use a modpack launcher workflow
- Open your chosen Minecraft modpack launcher and start its import or install workflow for a local or downloaded pack.
- Select
Adventure of Tech VI-v0.5.1.zip. If the launcher asks for a game version or loader, choose Minecraft 26.1.2 and NeoForge rather than allowing an unrelated profile to be reused. - Let the launcher create a separate instance. A clean instance prevents files from another modpack from being mixed into this one.
- Open the instance’s settings and verify that the displayed Minecraft and NeoForge versions match the release. The launcher should show the pack’s mods and configuration files after the import completes.
- Launch once without copying an old
saves, config, ormodsdirectory into the new instance. This first run lets NeoForge generate directories and exposes missing-file errors before you risk a world. - After reaching the title screen, close the game normally. Review the launcher log if it reports a missing dependency, a failed mod, or a Java launch error.
Launchers differ in their button names, but the principle is the same: import the supplied client archive as its own profile, then verify the resulting profile rather than assuming the launcher selected the correct loader automatically.

Starting a new world
Create a test world before committing to a long-term save. Check that the quest book opens, terrain generates, recipes appear, and the game returns to the title screen without errors. This short test distinguishes an installation problem from a world-specific problem and gives you a known-good baseline for later troubleshooting.
Updating an existing client
The v0.5.1 release notes explicitly say to back up worlds before updating. Exit Minecraft and the launcher, copy the entire world directory to a separate location, and keep that copy untouched until you have confirmed the updated instance works. Then install v0.5.1 as a new profile or follow your launcher’s documented instance-update process.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDo not overwrite a working instance and assume it can be rolled back by reinstalling the old archive. Mod updates can change registries, recipes, quests, shaders, and configuration files. Keeping the previous instance intact gives you a practical rollback path.
Setting up a dedicated server
Obtain the correct server pack
- Download
Adventure of Tech VI Server Pack-v0.5.1.zip, not the 71.1 MB client archive. The server archive is 356.5 MB and is the package intended for a dedicated instance. - Create a new, empty server directory with enough storage for the archive, generated world, logs, backups, and future updates.
- Extract the server archive into that directory. Preserve its folder structure; moving individual mods or configuration files into a different layout can break the included startup process.
- Read the supplied README, launch scripts, and configuration notes before starting. They are the authoritative place to confirm the required Java executable, memory flags, and any pack-specific initialization step because the project page does not publish those values.
- Run the included startup procedure once with no existing world. Watch the console and log for a successful NeoForge initialization, then stop the server using its normal stop command or script.
- If the first run creates an EULA file or requests acceptance, follow the displayed Minecraft EULA procedure before starting again. Do not copy a world into the directory until the server completes initialization cleanly.
- Start the server again and allow it to generate its world and configuration files. Keep the console visible during this run so you can record the exact error if a mod, Java runtime, or permission is rejected.
The archive’s name identifies it as a server pack, but it does not by itself publish a universal command line. Some distributions include a platform-specific script, while others expect the administrator to invoke a generated NeoForge launcher. Use the files that came with this release instead of substituting a command from a different NeoForge pack.

Make the server match every client
Every player should install the same v0.5.1 client profile for Minecraft 26.1.2 and NeoForge. The server directory and each client should contain the same mod and configuration set supplied by the release. Do not let one player add an extra performance, shader, content, or library mod unless you have confirmed that it is client-only and permitted by the pack.
When a player receives a missing-mod, mismatched-version, registry, or authentication error, compare the client’s instance contents with a fresh v0.5.1 installation before changing the server. A clean comparison is faster and safer than deleting random files from a working server.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWorld and backup procedure
- Stop the server cleanly before copying the world. A live copy can capture incomplete region or player data.
- Copy the primary world directory and the server configuration and script files to a dated backup location.
- Keep at least one backup away from the server machine or hosting account so a disk failure or mistaken deletion cannot remove both copies.
- Before applying a pack update, make a new backup and label it with the old pack version. Do not reuse the same backup folder for multiple updates.
- Test restoration on a separate instance when the world matters. A backup is only useful if it can be opened.
These precautions are particularly important for v0.5.1 because its release notes mention rearranged quests, restored Spirit Attuned Gem recipe behavior, hammer-made plates, updated shaders, an updated NeoForge build, and updated mods. Those changes can affect progression and world behavior even when the world still appears to load.
Java, RAM, operating system, and ports: what is known
The official pages captured for this release do not publish a Java version, a minimum or recommended RAM amount, a supported operating-system command sequence, or a required server port. Because those figures are absent, a responsible setup cannot promise that a particular allocation or command will work for every machine.

- Cross platform play for up to five players between Pocket Edition and Windows 10

- Enhanced Weather effects! Accumulating snow and more
Use this verification order:
- Inspect the server pack’s included scripts and documentation for the Java executable name, launch flags, and memory settings.
- Check the NeoForge and Minecraft 26.1.2 requirements that apply to your operating system.
- Start with the pack’s documented settings, then observe startup time, garbage-collection pauses, tick stability, and the operating system’s available memory while several players explore.
- Increase or reduce the allocation only after confirming that the host has enough physical memory for the operating system and other services.
- Use the port named by the generated server configuration or documentation. If you expose the server beyond your local network, configure the firewall and router for that port and restrict administration interfaces.
Do not confuse a launcher’s client memory slider with a dedicated server’s memory requirement. They are separate Java processes with different workloads, and neither number is officially specified for Adventure of Tech VI on the project page.
Self-hosting versus managed Minecraft hosting
A dedicated server pack makes either approach possible. The right choice depends less on a promised specification and more on who will maintain the machine, network, and backups.

| Decision factor | Self-hosted server | Managed Minecraft server |
|---|---|---|
| Upfront hardware cost | You provide a computer, storage, and any needed network equipment. | The provider supplies the server hardware as part of the service. |
| Recurring cost | Electricity, internet service, storage, and replacement hardware remain your responsibility. | A recurring hosting fee covers the rented service; exact pricing and resources vary by provider. |
| Setup effort | You extract the server pack, verify Java and NeoForge, configure the OS, and operate updates. | The control panel may automate installation, but you still need to import the correct server pack and validate the profile. |
| File and mod control | Direct access to every file, script, world, and configuration. | Control depends on the provider’s file manager, panel permissions, and backup policy. |
| Backup responsibility | You design, store, and test your own backups. | The provider may offer scheduled backups, but confirm retention, download access, and restoration before relying on them. |
| Uptime | Availability depends on your machine, power, internet connection, and maintenance schedule. | The provider manages the underlying facility, while outages and maintenance remain possible. |
| Network exposure | You configure firewall rules, router forwarding, DNS, and access controls. | The provider usually supplies a public address; you still secure operator accounts and whitelist players where appropriate. |
Regardless of who supplies the machine, insist on a clean v0.5.1 server-pack installation and keep a downloadable copy of your world. A control panel does not make an incompatible client compatible, and hosting automation does not replace a tested backup.

Client-only update checklist
- Close the game and launcher.
- Back up every important world.
- Install v0.5.1 in a separate profile when possible.
- Open the updated profile with a test copy of the world.
- Check quests, recipes, machines, and shaders before migrating your main save.
Server update checklist
- Announce maintenance and stop the server cleanly.
- Archive the old server directory and create a dated world backup.
- Extract the v0.5.1 server pack into a new directory instead of mixing it into the old installation.
- Compare any intentionally customized settings and copy them one at a time after confirming they are still valid.
- Start the new server, watch the log through world loading, and connect with a v0.5.1 client.
- Keep the old directory until players have verified their bases, inventories, quests, and machines.
The release notes’ specific changes—quest rearrangement, Spirit Attuned Gem recipe restoration, hammer-made plates, shader updates, NeoForge updates, and mod updates—are reasons to check progression rather than assuming that a successful boot means every system is unchanged.

Troubleshooting common failures
The launcher refuses to import the archive
Confirm that you selected the client archive and that the download completed. Re-download if the archive is truncated, then import it into a new profile rather than pointing the launcher at an existing unrelated instance. If the launcher does not support direct ZIP import, use its documented CurseForge-project installation path and select the v0.5.1 release there.
The game crashes before the title screen
Check the profile’s Minecraft and NeoForge versions first. Remove copied mods, shaders, and configuration files, then test the untouched v0.5.1 instance. Review the crash report and latest log for the first reported mod or Java error; the final stack-trace line is often a consequence rather than the cause.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed

The server stops during startup
Run the server from its supplied script or launcher and read the first fatal error. Verify the Java executable named in the pack documentation, file permissions, available disk space, and the server pack’s directory structure. Do not add memory flags or replace the NeoForge launcher until you have confirmed what the included files expect.
Players get a mod or registry mismatch
Make one fresh client profile from Adventure of Tech VI-v0.5.1.zip and compare it with the server extracted from the matching server archive. Ensure no player is using an older Adventure of Tech release, a different loader, or a manually updated mod. Reconnect only after both sides report the same Minecraft and NeoForge versions.
The world loads but recipes or quests look wrong
Check whether the server or client was updated without a world backup. v0.5.1 rearranges quests and restores Spirit Attuned Gem recipe behavior, so progression can legitimately look different from an earlier release. Stop, restore the pre-update copy if necessary, and test the update on a duplicate world before trying further edits.
Friends cannot connect from outside the home network
First verify that the server accepts a local connection. Then inspect the generated server configuration for its listening port, allow that port through the host firewall, and configure router forwarding to the server’s local address. The official project pages do not specify a universal port, so do not forward a number copied from an unrelated pack. If your internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT, ordinary forwarding may not be available; use a network arrangement that provides an reachable address or choose managed hosting.
Practical operating checklist
- Keep the server process and Minecraft accounts protected with unique credentials and limited operator permissions.
- Do not expose remote administration panels directly to the public internet.
- Save logs from failed starts and successful updates so you can compare changes.
- Schedule maintenance before changing mods, NeoForge, Java, or world settings.
- Back up before every update and retain at least one offline or off-machine copy.
- Tell players exactly which pack version to install instead of sending individual mod files.
- Use the pack’s own documentation for Java and launch settings because those values are not published on the project page.
Bottom line
For the current release, install the 71.1 MB client archive on Minecraft 26.1.2 with NeoForge, or deploy the 356.5 MB dedicated server archive for multiplayer. Keep all participants on v0.5.1, back up worlds before updating, and verify Java, memory, scripts, and network settings from the files that ship with the server pack rather than relying on undocumented numbers.
