“TGB” most plausibly refers to Tencent Gaming Buddy, the former name of GameLoop. GameLoop describes itself as having been rebranded from Tencent Gaming Buddy. This makes GameLoop the strongest documented connection, although the exact program on your computer should be confirmed from the error dialog and file path.
aecommondll.dll is not a standard Windows system DLL. There is also no reliable evidence that it belongs to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. Microsoft’s runtime packages contain components such as the C and C++ runtime libraries, MFC, and UCRT, not this Tencent application DLL.

Public archives list several 32-bit builds, including 3.11.300.100, 3.11.200.100, 3.11.189.100, 2.0.12439.123, and 2.0.9537.123. These are archive observations, not an official compatibility list. No trustworthy 64-bit variant has been established, so do not substitute an arbitrary file based only on its name or version.

Common loader messages include:
- “The program can’t start because aecommondll.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “There was a problem starting aecommondll.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “Error loading aecommondll.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because aecommondll.dll was not found.”
- “aecommondll.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.”
These are standard Windows loader templates. They do not prove that Windows itself owns the file.
Fix aecommondll.dll errors
1. Identify the application that is failing
Before changing files, establish which executable is requesting the DLL.
- Read the complete error dialog and note the application name.
- Check whether the error appears when launching GameLoop, a shortcut, or a game launcher.
- Right-click the shortcut and select Properties.
- On the Shortcut tab, inspect Target and Start in.
- If the error appears during startup, open Settings > Apps > Startup and look for a Tencent or GameLoop entry.
- For a crash that has no useful dialog, right-click Start, select Event Viewer, then open Windows Logs > Application.
- Look for an error recorded at the time of the failure and note the application name and faulting path.
Do not assume that a game is responsible simply because it runs inside an emulator. The affected executable may be the GameLoop launcher, an updater, or another Tencent component.
2. Restart Windows and try the application once
Close the affected application and restart Windows. This clears a locked updater process and can complete a pending installation.
After restarting, launch the application normally.
- If it opens, the problem was temporary or caused by an incomplete process.
- If the same DLL message returns, continue with application repair.
- If the error appears only at boot, inspect Settings > Apps > Startup for a stale entry.
3. Use Windows application repair when available
Windows 11 can repair some applications without removing their data.
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Apps > Installed apps.
- Find GameLoop or the application named in the error.
- Select the three-dot menu beside it.
- Choose Advanced options.
- Select Repair and wait for Windows to finish.
- Restart the application.
If Repair is unavailable or does not help, return to the same screen and use Reset only if you understand that it may remove application settings or locally stored data. Desktop programs do not always expose these controls. For those programs, use the vendor’s installer or uninstaller instead.

A successful repair should recreate the application’s private DLL files and allow the original executable to start. If the same error remains, do not copy a DLL into a Windows folder. Proceed to a clean application reinstall.

4. Update or reinstall GameLoop from its official installer
For a GameLoop-related error, this is the most likely definitive fix.
- Close GameLoop and any Tencent or emulator processes in Task Manager.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Select GameLoop and choose Uninstall, if repair or update is not available.
- Restart Windows.
- Download the current installer from the official GameLoop website, not from a DLL archive or unofficial software bundle.
- Run the installer and allow it to install the matching application files.
- Start GameLoop and allow its updater or file-verification process to complete.
- Test the application before restoring optional modifications or third-party plugins.
If the launcher provides Repair, Update, or Verify files, use that feature first. It is safer than replacing one file manually because it restores the DLL together with the dependencies and application version it expects.
If you need to preserve game data, confirm where GameLoop stores that data before uninstalling. Do not assume that copying the entire old installation directory into a new one will produce a valid installation.
5. Check antivirus quarantine
Security software may remove or quarantine an application DLL after an update or after detecting a particular file hash.
In Windows Security:
- Open Start and search for Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Under Current threats, select Protection history.
- Review entries created around the time
aecommondll.dlldisappeared. - Expand a matching entry and inspect its path, detection name, and action.
- If the file came from the legitimate Tencent installation, verify the application’s location and digital signature before taking any action.
Do not permanently disable antivirus protection. Reinstalling the application is preferable to restoring an isolated file because the installer can provide a consistent, signed set of files.
If you restore a quarantined file, Microsoft notes that Defender may detect it again unless it is explicitly allowed. Only allow it after confirming that the application was obtained from the official source and that the file is in the expected application directory. An unexpected copy in C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64 deserves additional investigation.

Security detections apply to particular hashes, not automatically to every file with the name aecommondll.dll. If the installer is unofficial, digitally unsigned, or repeatedly triggers detections, remove it and obtain a fresh copy from the official GameLoop source.
6. Check the file path and architecture
A normal application-local DLL is commonly stored beside the executable that loads it or inside one of that application’s directories. Microsoft documents the application directory as part of the standard DLL search order.

Check the location without moving the file:
- Search for
aecommondll.dllin File Explorer. - Right-click a result and select Open file location.
- Right-click the file, select Properties, and inspect Digital Signatures, if present.
- Compare the path with the installation directory of the failing application.
- Do not trust a copy merely because its filename matches.
The available public evidence points to a 32-bit DLL. A 32-bit process cannot load a 64-bit DLL, and a 64-bit process cannot load a 32-bit DLL. On 64-bit Windows, SysWOW64 is associated with 32-bit system-file redirection, despite its confusing name. That does not make it the correct destination for an application DLL.
Install the application build intended for your Windows architecture. Do not copy files between System32 and SysWOW64, and do not place an x86 DLL into a 64-bit application directory just to silence the message.
7. Reinstall Visual C++ only when the error names its files
Installing Visual C++ Redistributable packages does not replace aecommondll.dll. It is relevant only when the error also identifies a Microsoft runtime such as:
VCRUNTIME140.dllMSVCP140.dllMSVCR120.dll
If one of those files is named, install the appropriate package from Microsoft’s latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads. If the Tencent installer includes an official prerequisite, use that installer rather than downloading individual runtime DLLs.

8. Repair Windows components only as a secondary step
Because aecommondll.dll is an application component, Windows component repair is not the normal way to recreate it. Use these commands when other Windows features are also damaged, system files are failing, or several unrelated applications are reporting corruption.
- Right-click Start.
- Select Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
- Approve the User Account Control prompt.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for DISM to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows and test the affected application.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. These commands repair protected Windows components; they do not download or recreate a third-party Tencent DLL.
Repeatedly running SFC and DISM without knowing what changed can make troubleshooting slower. 9. Update drivers only when evidence points to a driver problem
A missing aecommondll.dll is not normally a graphics-driver error. Update drivers only if Event Viewer, GameLoop, or another application also reports display, chipset, audio, or device failures.
To check manually:
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Expand the relevant category, such as Display adapters.
- Right-click the device and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows if a driver is installed.
- Test the application again.
Do not uninstall a working driver merely because this DLL is missing. 10. Consider System Restore after a recent change
If the failure began immediately after an application update, installation, or system change, System Restore may help when a restore point exists.
- Open Start and search for Recovery.
- Select Recovery.
- Choose Open System Restore.
- Select a restore point from before the failure.
- Review the affected programs.
- Complete the restore and restart Windows.
System Restore rolls back system settings and installed programs. It is not a replacement for reinstalling the affected application, and it may not restore personal files or repair a damaged GameLoop installation.
Why regsvr32 usually does not help
Do not run:
regsvr32 aecommondll.dll
as a generic repair. regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that expose the appropriate COM registration entry points. A private application DLL can load normally without being registered, and registering it does not restore missing dependencies or repair a damaged installation.
If regsvr32 reports that an entry point is missing, that is evidence that registration is inappropriate, not evidence that another copy should be downloaded.

Avoid random DLL downloads
Downloading aecommondll.dll from an unrelated DLL archive can introduce malware, the wrong version, or the wrong architecture. It can also leave the actual problem untouched if a dependent DLL, application manifest, antivirus action, or damaged installation is responsible.
Use the official GameLoop installer or the affected program’s built-in repair and update functions. Use Microsoft’s official pages for Windows repair commands and Visual C++ prerequisites. Keep the restored file inside the application’s expected directory rather than copying it into System32 or SysWOW64.
