The card is Aerith Gainsborough, the FINAL FANTASY VII character. In Magic: The Gathering, her death triggers an effect that strengthens the legendary creatures you control. The card’s rules text makes that mechanical connection clear, though it does not establish that its artwork depicts the famous scene.
Which Magic card is the Aerith death scene?
It is Aerith Gainsborough, an official card in Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY, associated with FINAL FANTASY VII. Wizards describes the set as featuring cards drawn from characters, items, or moments across 16 mainline FINAL FANTASY games. The set’s card gallery identifies Aerith with the game.

What happens when Aerith dies in Magic?
Aerith has lifelink and gains a +1/+1 counter whenever you gain life. When she dies, you put X +1/+1 counters on each legendary creature you control, where X is the number of counters on Aerith. The card’s official text and rulings are in Wizards’ release notes.

- Build up Aerith: Each life-gain event adds a +1/+1 counter to her.
- Resolve her death trigger: When she dies, count the +1/+1 counters she had.
- Share that number: Put that many +1/+1 counters on each legendary creature you control.
For example, if Aerith has three +1/+1 counters when she dies, each legendary creature you control gets three +1/+1 counters. It is a payoff for building a board of legendary characters, not simply a bonus for losing a creature.
Does the card show Aerith’s death?
The rules text clearly echoes the event: Aerith’s death becomes a way to empower the rest of your legendary team. The official rules text alone does not establish that the illustration depicts the scene, and the gallery’s existence is not proof that every printing uses the same art. Check the specific card treatment if you are asking about its artwork.
