AETHUS is a single-player sci-fi survival-crafting game from Pawsmonaut Games, released on Steam on March 6, 2026. Its launch trailer is listed on the official Steam page, which also outlines a loop of exploring caverns, mining and crafting resources, and building an outpost on the surface.
What the AETHUS launch trailer is about
The trailer introduces a story-driven mining expedition rather than a multiplayer survival sandbox. In Pawsmonaut Games’ premise, former engineer Maeve returns to a long-abandoned mining claim and investigates the facilities hidden beneath it. She is accompanied by Roland, an AI companion, while a corporation tries to keep the site’s secrets buried. This is the game’s fictional setup, not a story about a real corporation.
The launch trailer is labeled “Gameplay AETHUS – Launch Trailer” on the Steam product page. Steam’s official community post, “AETHUS is OUT NOW!”, confirms that the game launched. The available listing does not establish an exact publication time for the trailer.
How exploration and outpost building fit together
The central progression links underground trips with surface development. Steam describes exploration through caverns, prospecting for gems, mining, refining resources and crafting. Those materials feed into a modular surface outpost, where hydroponic crops add another part of the survival loop.

Release, demo and controller details
Steam lists AETHUS as a released single-player game, with a demo advertised on its store page. The same listing describes full controller support, including Xbox and PlayStation controllers, and Steam Deck compatibility as “Playable.” A controller is an option, not a stated requirement. These are storefront details and can change as the game receives updates.
