Age of Mythology: Retold Update 17.27932 arrived on September 13, 2024, combining stability and performance fixes with campaign adjustments, broad balance changes, map revisions and multiplayer updates. Its most notable general changes include longer Heroic and Mythic Age research times. This is a breakdown of that build—not the separate 17.30764 update released later in September.
What Update 17.27932 changed
World’s Edge Studio described the September 13 patch as addressing stability and performance issues, important balance changes and campaign changes. The notes also list fixes involving localization, achievements, graphics, audio, the user interface, hotkeys and controller support. The update added access to the technology tree from the Learn tab. The studio said the build was playable through Microsoft Store on ROG Ally and Legion Go, and with a wireless Xbox 360 controller. Read the official 17.27932 notes.
General balance changes
The patch changed age-up timings and several economic and defensive values. These are the figures in the patch notes, not evidence of a particular change to match length or competitive results.

Town Centers and Citadel Centers received increased accuracy and pierce damage. The official notes do not give a single before-and-after number for those increases in the summary of changes.

Pantheon balance revisions
The update included many faction- and god-specific adjustments. A few examples illustrate the range of changes; they should be read as patch-note values, not as proof of later win-rate or tournament effects.
Greek
Minotaur cost increased from 150 Gold and 14 Favor to 180 Gold and 15 Favor. Cyclops cost decreased from 175 Food and 18 Favor to 150 Food and 18 Favor.

Egyptian
Plague of Serpents spawned fewer snakes. Ra’s priest bonus and the bonus for Pharaoh-empowered monuments increased.
Norse
Walking Woods spawned one fewer tree, while its starting Favor cost was reduced.

Turma speed and armor increased, while Palace pierce damage decreased.
Campaign and map changes
The patch included campaign balance changes and fixes, with Fall of the Trident Mission 18 singled out for a significant balance adjustment. The notes do not establish how that change affects every difficulty or player strategy, so players should treat the mission adjustment as a campaign-specific change rather than a general balance rule.

The Unknown and Land Unknown random maps were reworked to produce more unpredictable spawns. In the ranked map pool, Mediterranean was removed and Megalopolis was added to Ranked and Quick Match.

Players gained a setting to opt out of cross-network play. Party chat also became available in Ranked and Quick Match. Alongside the controller and handheld compatibility details noted by the studio, the update addressed crashes and out-of-sync situations as well as minor performance issues.

The official release notes identify Steam, Microsoft Store and Xbox App for Windows as update channels. Check the relevant storefront or app for the game’s available update; the notes do not provide one universal download procedure across all three.
Build 17.27932 was published September 13, 2024. It is distinct from Update 17.30764, published September 24, 2024, followed by a minor 17.31993 fix noted on September 25. Changes described in that later post should not be attributed to 17.27932. See the separate 17.30764 notes.
