No: 2XKO no longer has Ranked lobbies or an active in-game ranked ladder. Riot says it removed Ranked with patch 1.3.1 in September 2026, while keeping skill-based matchmaking in Casual lobbies. The claim that Cloud805 and SonicFox were fighting for the game’s number-one leaderboard spot remains unverified by the official records cited here.
What happened to 2XKO Ranked?
Riot announced on August 20, 2026 that it would remove Ranked and streamline matchmaking through Casual lobbies. Riot Support’s Evergreen Transition FAQ says Ranked was removed with patch 1.3.1 in September 2026. Riot’s stated reason was to bring players into a larger matchmaking pool on each server. Riot’s August 20 announcement and the support FAQ describe the change.
Casual lobbies retained skill-based matchmaking, so players can still be matched by skill. That is not the same as a visible Ranked ladder: Riot’s current feature status does not provide an active in-game leaderboard or Ranked placement to check.
Were Cloud805 and SonicFox competing for number one?
The specific claim that Cloud805 and SonicFox were battling for the top spot on a 2XKO in-game leaderboard is not established by the official sources available here. Riot’s announcements confirm the Ranked feature’s removal and describe its competitive plans, but they do not document that player-versus-player leaderboard contest.

- VERSATILE CONNECTIVITY — Connect via USB-C for plug-and-play on console and PC, or quickly pair and switch between supported devices with XBOX Wireless and Bluetooth support.
- BUILT-IN AUDIO SUPPORT — Plug in compatible headsets using the 3.5mm audio jack for direct voice chat and immersive in-game sound.
Without a dated leaderboard capture or an authoritative contemporaneous record, it would be misleading to present the claim as fact. A tournament result, seed, or placement is also not proof of an in-game ladder rank; those are separate competitive records.
Where can players follow 2XKO competition now?
Riot’s December 5, 2025 plan for 2026 competition described support for existing fighting-game events rather than a Riot-run league. The announced series comprised five Majors and fifteen Challenger events, with one Major and three Challenger events connected to each of five in-game seasons. Riot said it would support community events through funding, promotion on official Riot channels, and prize-pool increases. Riot’s competitive-play plan gives the announced structure.

Riot reported more than 1,500 community tournaments since Early Access began in October 2025, including 22 First Impact-sponsored events. These are figures reported by Riot Games in 2025, not independently verified counts. To interpret a competitive result, check the event name, date, region, and whether the record is a tournament finish or a ladder placement.
In a February 9, 2026 update, Riot said its competitive-series plans were unchanged while it reduced the 2XKO team. Riot described a passionate core audience, but said overall momentum was not sufficient to support a team of that size long term. The February update provides that context.
What Riot announced about 2XKO’s future
Riot said active development would conclude at the end of 2026, with servers remaining online beyond 2026. Its support FAQ listed patch 1.3.5 in December 2026 as the final planned patch before the game entered maintenance state. These were Riot’s announced plans, not a guarantee about future service changes. In its August announcement, Riot said: “Servers will remain on beyond 2026, and 2XKO will be playable on all platforms.” See Riot’s announcement and the support FAQ for the qualifications and schedule.
