What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
To set up an Agmundr Zombie Apocalypse server, first select one exact pack release, then use the matching Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge loader, manifest, overrides and server files. Allocate at least 8 GB of RAM; the project recommends 12 GB or more. Do not combine a 1.6.8 server pack with a 1.7.5 client, or copy an ordinary client folder to a server without checking its contents.
Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks, a built-in mod installer and up to three free backups a day.
The latest release listed by the project at the time covered here is 1.7.5, uploaded July 11, 2026. A documented official server-pack ZIP exists for 1.6.8, but a separate 1.7.5 server artifact is not clearly identified. That distinction determines whether you can install the newest release directly or should deploy the release with a confirmed server pack.

Agmundr – Zombie Apocalypse is a large Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge modpack by shripp. Its project description presents an apocalypse-survival experience built around custom classes and difficulties, special zombies, Create technology questlines, realistic body damage, seasons, world-generation changes, decoration, weapons and armor systems. The description also says the quest system is intended to teach players how the game works while they survive.
The CurseForge project description calls it a 240-plus-mod experience. A separate technical analysis identifies release 1.7.5 as containing 305 mod projects and Forge 47.4.6. Those figures are not necessarily contradictory: a launcher description can count the main gameplay mods while a technical inventory also counts libraries and dependencies. Treat the release’s own manifest as the authoritative list of files installed on your server.

Compatibility rules you must satisfy
An Agmundr 1.20.1 Forge server is not compatible with an arbitrary Forge build or a different Agmundr release. Every player and the server need the same Minecraft version, Forge release family and pack release. A mismatch can stop the client during the loading screen, produce missing-mod errors or create a world that behaves differently from the one the operator intended.
- Minecraft: 1.20.1 for the releases listed by the project.
- Loader: Forge; release 1.7.5 is identified by a technical analysis as Forge 47.4.6.
- Pack release: use one release on the server and every client. The project file index lists nine releases, with 1.7.5 the latest listed at the time covered here.
- Files: preserve the selected release’s manifest and overrides together. Never borrow configuration or mods from another release to “fill a gap.”
How much RAM does Agmundr need?
The project’s published server guidance is 8 GB minimum and 12 GB or more recommended. It also labels 12 GB or more as ideal. These are allocation starting points, not a guaranteed player capacity or a performance benchmark. Actual memory demand changes with world-generation activity, view distance, loaded dimensions, automation and the number of concurrent players.
| Published level | Allocation | How to use the figure |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 8 GB | Use as the floor for a serious deployment; leave headroom for the operating system and host panel. |
| Recommended | 12 GB+ | The project’s normal target when choosing a server plan. |
| Ideal | 12 GB+ | The same published threshold; it is not a separate tested capacity tier. |
Do not interpret “12 GB+” as proof that a particular number of players will run smoothly. No independent player-capacity study, tick-rate test or CPU benchmark is established for this pack. If a host advertises only 5,000 MB, that is below Agmundr’s published 8 GB minimum even if the provider offers a one-click installer.
Choose the exact release before installing
Option A: deploy a release with a confirmed server pack
An official Agmundr – Zombie Apocalypse-v1.6.8serverpack.zip is documented on CurseForge. It supports Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge, is listed at 1.1 GB and was uploaded March 18, 2026. This is the clearest documented starting point when you want a packaged server distribution rather than assembling files yourself.

Option B: use the newest listed release
Release 1.7.5 is the newest file listed by the project at the time covered here, but the creator listing does not clearly identify a separate server file for that release. Before creating a world, inspect the 1.7.5 file entry and its release notes. If they provide a matching server artifact, use that artifact. If they do not, do not silently substitute the 1.6.8 server pack: the two releases may differ in mods, configuration, scripts and world behavior.
Record the versions
Write down the Agmundr release, Minecraft version and Forge version before downloading anything. For 1.7.5, the technical analysis reports Forge 47.4.6; verify the loader shown in the actual release files because the project listing is the final authority for the package you deploy.
Where is the Agmundr server pack?
The documented server pack is the CurseForge file named Agmundr – Zombie Apocalypse-v1.6.8serverpack.zip. Its listing identifies a 1.1 GB download for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge. Find it from the project’s Files area rather than downloading a random archive or renaming a client ZIP.
For 1.7.5, the available evidence does not establish a separately named server ZIP. Check the release’s file list and notes each time you install or upgrade. A normal client installation can contain launcher metadata, client-only mods or settings that are inappropriate on a dedicated server. The technical pack analysis specifically advises against uploading an ordinary client folder blindly.

Self-hosting: a safe installation procedure
Self-hosting gives you control over files, backups and networking, but you are responsible for the machine, firewall, port forwarding, updates and recovery. Use a clean directory for each release so that old files cannot be mistaken for current ones.
- Select one release. Confirm the Agmundr version, Minecraft 1.20.1 and the Forge release shown by the project’s files. Decide whether you are using the documented 1.6.8 server pack or a confirmed server artifact for another release.
- Prepare the machine. Reserve at least 8 GB for the server process, with 12 GB or more as the project’s recommendation. Keep additional memory available for the operating system, backups and monitoring. Storage must accommodate the server distribution, generated world, logs and backups; the pack’s 1.6.8 server ZIP alone is listed at 1.1 GB.
- Create a clean server directory. Do not install over a previous Agmundr world or copy unrelated Forge files into it. Keeping separate directories makes rollback possible if an update fails.
- Install the matching Forge server files. Follow the installer or host documentation for the exact Forge build in your selected release. The retrieved project information does not publish a universal command line or Java-runtime requirement, so use the current release notes and the instructions supplied with your server platform instead of copying a command from another Forge pack.
- Apply the pack distribution. Extract the server pack, or apply the manifest and overrides from the same release. Keep the selected release’s mods, configuration, scripts and data together. Do not merge the 1.6.8 server files with 1.7.5 files.
- Set the memory ceiling. Configure the host panel or startup mechanism for at least 8 GB, preferably 12 GB or more. The exact setting name and command syntax depend on your host and operating system and are not specified by the project listing.
- Start once. The first launch normally creates configuration files and displays the Minecraft EULA prompt. Stop the process after those files appear, read the EULA, and make only the settings you understand. Do not treat an EULA acceptance as permission to redistribute the pack outside its own terms.
- Complete basic server configuration. Set the world name, difficulty and access controls in the files generated by your installation. Keep a copy of the original files before changing them. Because Agmundr includes custom difficulties and gameplay systems, avoid replacing its generated configuration with a vanilla template.
- Start and observe the first generation. Watch the console for missing-mod, dependency or registry errors. Let the initial world finish generating before inviting players; stopping during generation can leave an incomplete or corrupted world.
- Test locally, then remotely. Join from a client installed with the identical Agmundr release and Forge loader. Only after a local test succeeds should you configure external access, firewall rules and router forwarding.
- Back up before inviting players. Stop the server cleanly, copy the world and configuration, and label the backup with the Agmundr release and date. Keep at least one backup that predates every pack or configuration change.
Client setup for every player
Each player should install the same Agmundr release that the server runs, using Minecraft 1.20.1 and the matching Forge family. A player on 1.7.5 cannot reliably join a 1.6.8 server simply because both releases target 1.20.1; mod versions, registries and configuration can still differ.
Recommended Free Tools
- Use the same release number shown in the server directory or host panel.
- Use the same Forge build family; for 1.7.5, verify whether the client launcher displays the reported 47.4.6 build.
- Allow the launcher to finish downloading every dependency before joining.
- Remove old Agmundr instances from the test profile if the launcher has mixed files from another release.
- Record the exact error text if the connection fails; “incompatible mod set” and “missing registry” errors usually indicate a release or loader mismatch rather than a networking problem.
Managed Agmundr server hosting options
Managed Agmundr server hosting can remove much of the installation and networking work. Provider catalogs change, so verify the current release, regional availability, pricing and terms when ordering. The figures below describe listings available in the supplied material, not independent performance tests.
| Provider listing | Deployment details shown | Important check |
|---|---|---|
| CreeperHost | One-click Agmundr installation; 5,000 MB minimum RAM; 2 × 4.5 GHz CPU; 15 GB SSD; a current 1.7.5 option was shown. | 5,000 MB is below Agmundr’s published 8 GB minimum. Confirm that a plan with at least 8 GB, preferably 12 GB+, is available. |
| WinterNode | Agmundr listing with a 9 GB preset, backups, unmetered NVMe storage and upgrade options. | Confirm that the preset still targets the desired Agmundr release and that backup retention meets your needs. |
| BoxToPlay | One-click installation flow with a listed 1.6.8 Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge option. | Check whether the release you want is still offered before creating the server. |
| Kinetic Hosting | Dedicated Agmundr page with one-button modpack installation. | Verify technical specifications, release availability, region and commercial terms directly with the provider. |
A one-click button does not remove the release-matching rule. Select the exact pack version in the host panel, compare the advertised memory with the project’s 8 GB minimum, and confirm that you can download or restore world backups. If the panel offers only a client installation or an older release, stop and ask support for the matching server distribution rather than mixing files yourself.

Networking and administration checklist
The pack-specific evidence does not publish a universal port number, Java version or startup command. Those details depend on the server platform and should come from its current documentation. Regardless of platform, complete these administrative checks:
- Allow the server process through the machine’s firewall only on the interfaces you intend to expose.
- Use the host’s documented public-address and port settings; do not assume a port from another Minecraft installation.
- Restrict operator privileges to trusted accounts and keep authentication enabled where the platform supports it.
- Monitor disk space as the world grows, especially when exploring new terrain and dimensions.
- Schedule backups while the server is stopped or use a provider’s snapshot feature designed for live worlds.
- Keep a written change log containing the release, Forge build, configuration edits and backup location.
Upgrading or changing releases without losing the world
Pack upgrades are not ordinary mod updates. Before moving from 1.6.8 to 1.7.5, or between any two Agmundr releases, make a complete backup of the world, server configuration and the exact files used to launch the old version.
- Stop the server cleanly and verify that the backup opens or can be copied to a separate test directory.
- Read the target release notes and identify whether a matching server pack exists.
- Install the target release in a new directory instead of overwriting the old installation.
- Apply only the target release’s manifest, overrides, mods and scripts.
- Start the new installation on a copy of the world first. Watch for missing registries, removed blocks, quest errors or configuration resets.
- Keep the old directory untouched until players have confirmed that the upgraded world works.
If the target release has no clearly identified server artifact, delaying the upgrade is safer than improvising with a client folder. A working older server with a verified distribution is preferable to a newer world that cannot be restored.
Troubleshooting common setup failures
The server stops with missing or incompatible mods
Compare the server and client release numbers, Minecraft version and Forge build. Remove mixed files, reinstall the selected release in a clean directory and reapply its manifest and overrides. Do not solve a dependency error by copying a mod from another Agmundr version.
Best Value
- Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10
- discover community creations in the new in-game store
- access new mini games and game modes through servers
Players can connect but see different content
This usually indicates that one side has a different configuration, scripts or overrides. Rebuild the client profile from the same release used by the server and check that the server was not assembled from an ordinary client folder.

Confirm the actual allocation rather than the host plan’s marketing label. Move from the 8 GB floor toward the project’s 12 GB-plus recommendation, reduce simultaneous world-generation activity and check disk and operating-system pressure. There is no published player-count formula for this pack, so do not promise a capacity based solely on RAM.
The host offers only 5 GB
A 5,000 MB listing is below the project’s stated minimum. Choose a larger plan or a different provider; changing a software setting cannot make 5 GB meet an 8 GB requirement.
The 1.7.5 server download cannot be found
Recheck the 1.7.5 Files entry and release notes. The documented 1.6.8 server pack is not automatically interchangeable with 1.7.5. If no matching artifact is provided, contact the host or pack maintainer for the correct distribution rather than uploading the client folder.
The first launch creates files but no one can join
Separate installation problems from networking problems. First join locally with a matching client. If local access works, then check the host’s address, firewall and router or panel networking settings using that platform’s documentation. The pack itself does not establish a universal network command or port in the available project guidance.

What to verify before inviting the group
- The server and all clients show the same Agmundr release.
- Minecraft is 1.20.1 on both sides.
- The Forge build is the one required by that release.
- The server uses the matching manifest and overrides, not a mixed client directory.
- Memory is configured for at least 8 GB, with 12 GB or more preferred.
- A clean world backup exists and has a clear date and release label.
- The host or self-hosted machine has enough storage for the world, logs and backups.
- The selected hosting plan exposes the release you actually want, not merely an older one-click option.
