AION 2 crafting has five disciplines for making equipment, materials, consumables, and food. To progress efficiently, choose recipes for the output you need, track proficiency and promotion requirements, and compare the properties shown before committing materials to Transfer Crafting or Substance Morph.
What are the five crafting disciplines?
The AION 2 Atlas uses these English labels for five disciplines described in NC Taiwan crafting documentation. Recipe names can differ by region or database: for example, the recipe database uses “Blacksmithing” where the Atlas uses “Smithing.” Use the labels in your own client when locating a discipline or recipe.

These are broad output areas, not a guarantee that every recipe in a discipline serves the same purpose. Check the individual recipe’s output, required proficiency, and materials in the client.
Example: recipe details depend on the item
Aion2.app’s recipe database lists an Orichalcum Helm requiring Helm Mastery 3, one Orichalcum Ingot, three Strong Leather, two Refining Stones, and one Odyle. This is one recipe example—not a general material list for armor. The database says its recipe data comes from the official NCSOFT AION 2 API and identifies its game-client data as dated September 18, 2026.

How to level crafting proficiency
Crafting proficiency affects the chance of success, and both successful and failed crafts award crafting experience. The AION 2 Atlas says higher proficiency improves success; the Global guide adds that failed crafts give less proficiency than successful ones and that success depends partly on your proficiency relative to the recipe requirement.
Global guide: unlock, crafting location, and promotion
The gaming.tools Global guide, updated October 7, 2026 for version 1.0.21.0, reports that crafting unlocks at character level 10. It describes using a Crafting Table in town, or the Crafting menu elsewhere with less combat EXP. If you take a hit while crafting, the guide says the craft is canceled as a failure.

That same guide reports a promotion test at proficiency 50 and a current cap of 100. It also says a recipe retains the same proficiency value after you outgrow it, at least through 50. These are patch- and region-sensitive details from the Global guide, not universal rules; check the current client for your progression requirements.
Choose between single crafts and batches
According to the Global guide, individual crafts award more proficiency than x10 or x30 batches for the same material spend. Batches save time, while individual crafts may be preferable when proficiency is the priority. The guide’s comparison is specific to Global version 1.0.21.0, so verify the live behavior in your regional client.

- Open the relevant discipline and inspect recipes you can currently make.
- Compare each recipe’s proficiency requirement with your current proficiency and note any promotion requirement shown by the client.
- Check the required materials against what you already own and what you would need to gather or buy.
- If leveling is the goal, consider individual crafts; if time is the priority, check whether a batch option is available.
- Before crafting, review the recipe panel’s success and any Combo or Splendent outcomes it displays.
Which discipline should you level first?
Start from the item you want, rather than assuming one discipline is best for every character. The Global guide recommends prioritizing the discipline that makes your desired weapon and says Armor crafting and Cooking serve every class. A separate player guide recommends opening Alchemy first, leveling Odyle gathering alongside it, and then making a class weapon and Guard. These are recommendations, not official progression rules.
- For a specific weapon: find the discipline and recipe that produce it, then check its proficiency and materials.
- For broadly useful outputs: compare armor and food recipes with your character’s needs.
- For an Alchemy-first route: treat Odyle gathering and the later weapon-and-Guard steps as the separate guide’s suggested order, not a requirement.
- If you might sell crafted items: compare ingredient costs with current prices on your server. The Global guide warns that demand does not guarantee profit.
What does Transfer Crafting carry over?
Transfer Crafting is tied to eligible recipes, which the AION 2 Atlas says display a Transfer Crafting icon. In its summary of NC Corporation’s Taiwan Crafting Management guidebook, the Atlas describes some equipment progression information carrying to a crafted item while other properties reset.

The Atlas’s summary of the NC Taiwan Substance Morph guide, cited as updated November 14, 2025, says the interface lists the output, required materials, and success probability—and that a conversion can fail.

- Open Substance Morph in the client for your region.
- Check the displayed output and confirm the exact materials and quantities required.
- Review the listed success probability before committing the materials.
- Proceed only if the possible result and failure risk make sense for the materials you are spending.
There is no single universal conversion recipe, fixed success rate, or permanent material economy established here. Availability, quantities, and odds should come from the live in-game display.
How to compare crafting routes and recipes
When several recipes or disciplines could meet your goal, compare them using the information that changes the decision:
- Output: the weapon, armor, accessory, consumable, or food you actually want.
- Progression: recipe proficiency requirements and any promotion step shown in your client.
- Materials: what you have, what you can gather, and what you would have to purchase.
- Outcomes: success chance and any Combo or Splendent results listed in the recipe panel.
- Future use: whether an eligible Transfer Crafting recipe uses the equipment you are making.
- Market conditions: current server ingredient and sale prices, without treating demand as a promise of profit.
Recipe databases can help with lookups, but their entries describe recipe requirements rather than guaranteed value or live market outcomes. Treat the client as the authority for current availability and quantities.
