There are 10 Science Adventures Quarterly volumes to find for “In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda” on Paradise Island, Eden, in The Outer Worlds 2. This guide uses each magazine’s volume number—not the route order used by some walkthroughs—and gives a landmark plus the spot to search.
All 10 Science Adventures Quarterly locations
Search the furniture and upper floors in the named buildings. The locations are spread across small shacks, fishing huts, docks, and a tower.
| Volume | Where to look |
|---|---|
| 1 | In a shack among the flooded residences of Westport, northwest on the island. Check the bed. |
| 2 | At a fisherman’s shack on the southern tip of Paradise Island. Check the table on the front deck or porch. |
| 3 | Outside a shack north of the Ministry of Accuracy, on the west coast. Look on the table beside the entrance stairs. |
| 4 | At a dock in a fisherman’s shack east of the Vox Relay fast-travel point. Check the table. |
| 5 | Inside a hut in the hamlet northeast of the Ministry of Accuracy, near Redactor Quesnel. Check by the bed. |
| 6 | Inside a fisherman’s shack across the bay from Fairfield Landing Pad. Look on the bed. |
| 7 | At a small farm north of Skycutter A102. Search the desk in the farmhouse. |
| 8 | On the top floor of Crabbing Tower, south of the Ministry of Accuracy. Check the table in the upper room. |
| 9 | In a shack south of Sovereign’s Sweet Spire Grove. Look on the bed beside the safe. |
| 10 | At a fishing shack by the water north of Skycutter A102. Check the side or outdoor table. |
Volume numbers can be easy to mix up with walkthrough step numbers. GameSpot labels its locations by proximity to Quesnel and travel sequence, so its “Item location #1” is not necessarily Volume 1. The table above follows volume-specific lists from All Things How and GamesRecon; GameSpot’s numbering approach is described in its quest guide.
How to start “In Pursuit of Purloined Propaganda”
Find Redactor Quesnel west of Fairfield and speak with her, or pick up a volume first and visit her afterward. Guides report that collecting one magazine is enough to start the quest proper. The nearby Volume 5 hut is a convenient early stop because it is close to Quesnel.

#1 Best Overall
The guides say the volumes can be collected in any order and that no skill or trait is required to pick them up. Bring the magazines back to Quesnel as you find them to reach the one-, five-, and ten-volume turn-ins described in PowerPyx’s location guide and All Things How’s quest guide.

Reward details are not fully consistent across the guides. All Things How reports the rewards below; GamesRecon agrees on the five-volume card and the ten-volume Townie Clothing, XP, and achievement, but gives different armor attributes. GameSpot also mentions a Serial Fanatic perk and omits some items from its summary. Treat the listed package as guide-reported rather than a guaranteed exhaustive reward list.
| Turn-in | Rewards reported by All Things How |
|---|---|
| 1 volume | 500 bit cartridges. |
| 5 volumes | Josephus Fielder Pitchball Card, reported to add 1% damage, plus 500 additional bit cartridges. |
| All 10 volumes | Townie Clothing, 855 XP, and the “SA Quarterlies Quantified” achievement. |
