Spoilers: this guide reveals where to find all twelve treasure maps, their chests, and the equipment rewards. There are three map-and-treasure pairs in each of Avowed’s four regions; collecting every map is associated with the Pathfinder achievement. You can also go straight to a treasure chest without picking up its map first, according to PC Gamer. The locations and reward names below are drawn from RPG Site’s guide.
Dawnshore treasure maps
Intimidating Feline Codpiece
- Map: Buy it from Lynna at The Best Offense in Claviger’s Landing.
- Treasure: Find a cave north of Yellowband Camp. Break through the barricades inside to reach the chest.
- Reward: Stelgaer’s Pride.
Captain Henqua’s Spoils
- Map: Loot the corpse near the top of the Lighthouse, close to Claviger’s Landing.
- Treasure: Search the underwater cave by the river northeast of Western Pargrun Wall Beacon, south of the bridge.
- Reward: Wind and Wave.
Woedica’s Inheritance
- Map: Buy it from Sanza’s Makeshift Emporium in Northern Paradis.
- Treasure: On Paradis’s eastern exterior wall, look north of The Mermaid’s Den and west of God’s Gate Beacon for a tucked-away switch that opens the chest.
- Reward: Gloves of the Strangler.
Emerald Stair treasure maps
Painter’s Regret
- Map: Pick it up from an easel in the farmhouse directly north of Maxim’s Claim Party Camp.
- Treasure: Enter the cliffside cave on the west side of the river north of Rootbound Godless Ruins and south of Wildwood Outskirts Party Camp.
- Reward: Painter’s Brush.
Practical Pockets
- Map: Buy it from Ector Brewer at The Gifted Magpie in Fior mes Iverno.
- Treasure: Look for a small cave northeast of Ranger’s Headquarters.
- Reward: Hjide’s Handy Hide.
Earthy Aegis
- Map: Find it in a house near Naku Tedek Grounds. From the entrance, follow the tents south and look for a large root leading to a broken roof.
- Treasure: Reach the room with the chest using a switch near the high building west of Rock Arch Beacon.
- Reward: Nature’s Ward.
Shatterscarp treasure maps
Robe of the Arcane Cheater
- Map: Buy it from Ihaka at The Thrifty Pig on the east end of Deadfall Highlands.
- Treasure: From northeast of Tago’s Tower Beacon, use a tilted pillar to reach an upper level and the chest.
- Reward: Necropants.
Seafarer’s Boots
- Map: Pick it up from a blanket near an NPC east of Thirdborn.
- Treasure: The guide’s clue points to a chest just outside the cave by the river between Sulfur Mines Basecamp and Leivathan’s Hollow. A nearby web hides a grotto with an illusion Yatzli can dispel.
- Reward: The guide’s section title and reward description are inconsistent: its text points to Wavefinder’s Boots. Check the in-game chest or item name rather than relying on the guide’s heading.
Dead Man’s Mail
- Map: Loot a corpse in a tent in the middle of the Great Sand Sea, near the “S” in “Sea” on the map.
- Treasure: Go to the cave east of the lake south of the “Ancient” label at Ancient Lakebed. Drop down from the upper ledge to enter.
- Reward: Robes of Surpassing Brilliance.
Galawain’s Tusks treasure maps
Ancient Arrowhead
- Map: Find it on a corpse in a cave west of Writhing Ruins, at the same location as the Mater Mare bounty.
- Treasure: Look for a ledge east of Warden’s Rest; the chest is east of the Warden’s Rest building.
- Reward: Scout’s Reach.
My Loyal Shield
- Map: Buy it from Stockkeeper Eberk at Southern Warden Tower.
- Treasure: Search the building on the high bluff south of Outcast Tower Camp. Press the switch on the back of the altar.
- Reward: Time’s Tarnish.
The Blade That Hungers
- Map: Buy it from Bulti on an upper level of Solace Keep.
- Treasure: Travel far north into Ash Forest.
- Reward: Umbral Needle.
Do you need to collect each map to get its treasure?
No. PC Gamer reports that you can travel directly to a treasure chest and open it without collecting the corresponding map first. If you are prioritizing loot, skip the map pickup; if you want the Pathfinder achievement, collect the map as well as its treasure. RPG Site and XboxAchievements.com associate completing the full set of twelve maps with Pathfinder. The achievement information is also reported by XboxAchievements.com.
