Most are won from the Gatcha Lab; the Throwback Outfit is tied to the Great Master Challenge, while three outfits were described around launch as pre-order or Digital Deluxe early unlocks. Those launch-edition details are historical, not confirmation of what every edition offers today.

This list follows Kristina Ebanez’s Destructoid guide, published and updated September 11, 2024. It is a dated guide rather than a current official catalog, so later additions or changes are not established here.

How to get Gatcha Lab outfits
According to the September 11, 2024 Destructoid guide, the Gatcha Lab opens after you find 16 puzzle pieces. Each item costs 100 coins, and the outfits available there are obtained through the machine. The guide says the Changing Room opens at 48 puzzle pieces; there, you can punch a displayed outfit to change into it.
How to unlock the Throwback Outfit
The guide reports that the Throwback Outfit requires collecting all puzzle pieces and Astro Bots and completing the Great Master Challenge pathway. It is a challenge reward rather than a Gatcha Lab pull.

What the launch bonuses mean now
PlayStation’s June 6, 2024 pre-order announcement listed the PaRappa-themed Lovestruck Lyricist Outfit as a pre-order item and the Yharnam Tourist and Golden outfits among Digital Deluxe early unlocks. Team Asobi studio head Nicolas Doucet described them as “early unlocks to customize your experience,” adding that “The outfits and the Dual Speeder paint colors listed above will become available during the adventure as you unlock their respective buildings on the crash site.” PlayStation’s announcement therefore frames the bonuses as early access, but it does not establish the present-day availability of each item across editions. Destructoid’s post-launch guide treated them as edition-specific at that time and said the PaRappa outfit was unavailable to non-pre-order players then; current access is not settled by these sources.
Do costumes change gameplay?
The Destructoid guide describes the outfits as cosmetic: they do not grant a unique ability. Choose them for appearance, not an expected gameplay advantage.

The 20-outfit count above is what the September 11, 2024 guide lists, including the default outfit. PlayStation’s cited pages are a pre-launch announcement and release announcement, not a current costume inventory, so they do not confirm whether updates later changed the roster.
