EA’s documented Battle Royale mission list contains eight objectives: Signal Decryption, Weapons Cache, Demolition Crew, Marked, High Value Assets, Data Extraction, Headhunter, and Tank Hunter. This is EA’s list of missions available at the start of Season 1—not confirmation that all eight are in the live pool today. EA’s September 30, 2026 Season 5 update describes playlist changes but does not provide a new mission roster.
How Battle Royale missions work
EA describes these objectives as side-quests within a match. After several minutes, a mission prompt appears near the compass. A squad member can open the full-map screen and accept it for the squad; once accepted, no one else in that squad can take another mission. The mission card explains the task and indicates whether it involves PvP or PvE.
Missions trade exposure for possible rewards. EA lists rewards such as Rare Weapons, Drop-Ins, on-the-spot Custom Weapon Drops, and a Vehicle Key Card, which opens special containers containing a tank. Some objectives invite a direct fight or leave a player occupied while others can attack. Missions stop being offered when only a few squads remain, shifting attention to the endgame fights. Completing missions, along with finding hidden intel caches, also helps level a class Training Path; EA does not state a fixed progression amount. EA’s Battle Royale 101 guide covers the mission and reward mechanics.

The labels below—“Targeted” and “Counter Mission”—are EA’s classifications in that launch-era list. They describe mission behavior, not a guarantee of current availability.

| Mission | Launch-list label | What the squad does |
|---|---|---|
| Signal Decryption | Not targeted; not a Counter Mission | Align antennas until the on-screen horizontal and vertical meters reach 100%, amplifying a radio beacon and decrypting data. The player adjusting an antenna is left defenseless, so cover and timing matter. |
| Weapons Cache | Not targeted; not a Counter Mission | Find the marked bolt cutters and use them to open a weapons cache shared with the squad. |
| Demolition Crew | Not targeted; Counter Mission | Pick up a bomb, plant it at the marked M-COM objective or objectives, then defend until it explodes. EA compares the objective to destroying an M-COM in Rush. |
| Marked | Not targeted; Counter Mission | A squad member is tracked by nearby devices. Destroy those devices to complete the mission. |
| High Value Assets | Not targeted; Counter Mission | Fight to control an asset and hold it for a set time. A rival squad can counter the objective by capturing one of three pickups. |
| Data Extraction | Not targeted; not a Counter Mission | Collect data about the ring weapon technology, encrypt it onto a data drive, deliver the drive to an extraction drone, and prevent other squads from stealing the objective. |
| Headhunter | Targeted; not a Counter Mission | Hunt a high-value target assigned to your squad, such as the match’s kill leader or a player on the top squad. If the target survives the time limit, the target’s squad receives the reward. EA says the targeted squad can still accept other missions, though it does not recommend doing so. |
| Tank Hunter | Targeted; not a Counter Mission | Use the anti-tank gear provided to destroy or steal a marked enemy ground combat vehicle. |
Which missions are Counter Missions or targeted?
In EA’s launch-era table, Demolition Crew, Marked, and High Value Assets are Counter Missions. EA says a Counter Mission may be offered when a nearby squad accepts an objective that can be countered; these missions almost always involve fighting another squad. Headhunter and Tank Hunter are marked “Targeted,” but neither is labeled a Counter Mission. A targeted mission assigns your squad a player or vehicle to pursue; a Counter Mission responds to another squad’s objective.
How to judge whether an objective is worth taking
There is no official basis for ranking these missions as universally easiest or most rewarding. Use the mission card’s PvP/PvE description and displayed reward, then consider the kind of exposure the task requires:
Rank #2
- The ultimate all-out warfare experience.
- MULTIPLAYER Victory, however you envision it. Battlefield 6 has more ways to win than ever before.
- GLOBAL SCALE CAMPAIGN Join an elite squad of Marine Raiders fighting relentlessly to save a world on the edge of collapse.
- PORTAL Battlefield Portal is a massive sandbox where creators and players can push Battlefield to the limit. Take unprecedented control of your environment by moving, scaling, and duplicating objects.
- Pre-order Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition and get the Pre-order Bonus: Tombstone Pack*. Includes a Soldier Skin, Weapon package, Tombstone XP Boost Set, Player Card, Soldier Patch, and more
- Direct enemy pressure: Counter Missions can draw you into a fight over another squad’s objective. Headhunter and Tank Hunter direct your squad toward a target.
- Time spent exposed: Signal Decryption occupies a player at an antenna; Demolition Crew and High Value Assets require holding or defending an objective.
- Travel and vehicle commitment: Data Extraction requires moving a drive to a drone, while Tank Hunter centers on an enemy ground vehicle.
- Reward against risk: EA says missions likely to provoke combat or counter other teams often offer the greatest rewards. Check the specific reward shown before committing.
These are tactical considerations, not completion-time or success-rate comparisons: EA’s official material does not provide reliable averages or win-rate data for the mission types.
Is this the current REDSEC mission pool?
Not necessarily. EA’s detailed Battle Royale table is explicitly framed as the list available at the start of Season 1. Its September 30, 2026 Season 5 community update says Rapid Royale Solos and Trios arrive with Season 5 and describes playlist adjustments, including the end of the existing Solos/Duos rotation at the season’s start and a planned return for Duos later in the season. It also says Gauntlet leaves the active playlist lineup at that point, with a possible future return left open. Those playlist details do not confirm which Battle Royale missions are live. Check the in-game mission cards for the objectives currently offered.

Battle Royale missions are not Gauntlet missions
Gauntlet is a separate, round-based elimination mode. EA’s launch announcement names Decryption, Wreckage, Vendetta, and Circuit as examples of Gauntlet’s randomized mission varieties. Those names are not substitutes for the eight objectives in the Battle Royale list. EA’s REDSEC launch announcement explains the distinction between the modes.
