How the Bento Token event worked
Bungie announced Past Is Prologue on January 16, 2025, as a two-week event beginning January 21, during the final weeks of Episode: Revenant. Players picked up Bento Token quests from the Drifter and exchanged earned tokens for rewards with Eris. Bungie announced a maximum of eight tokens across the event.

The quests were released in stages rather than all at once. On January 28, 2025, BungieHelp12 told a player on the Bungie.net Help Forums: “Not all of the quests are currently available. More should become available across the event. Keep an eye out in-game for additional quests.” A quest step that appeared to show a possible reward did not necessarily award a token; BungieHelp said this was working as intended at that point in the event.
All announced Bento Token rewards and costs
The reward catalog below reflects Bungie’s January 16, 2025 announcement. Most entries cost one token, while Cloudstrike cost three and Artifice armor cost two. Spoils of Conquest could be purchased up to three times. With a maximum of eight tokens and some rewards costing more than one, players had to choose which token-priced items to claim.

Fixed weapon rolls
Bungie’s announcement listed these rolls for the weapons in the reward catalog:
- Cataphract GL3 (Adept): Linear Compensator, Alloy Casings, Envious Assassin, Bait and Switch, Velocity Masterwork.
- Igneous Hammer (Adept): Flared Magwell, Fluted Barrel, Fragile Focus, Precision Instrument, Range Masterwork.
- Horror’s Least (Adept): Arrowhead Brake, Accurized Rounds, Perpetual Motion, Kill Clip, Stability Masterwork.
- Riptide: Arrowhead Brake, Enhanced Battery, Compulsive Reloader, Chill Clip, Charge Time.
How to think about the reward choices
The announced costs and contents identify the trade-offs, but they do not establish one best choice for every player. The right pick depended on what you wanted and what your character already had.
- Materials and currency: Ascendant Alloy, Ascendant Shards, the Exotic Cipher, and Spoils of Conquest each cost one token. Spoils were the only listed item with a stated repeat-purchase limit: three purchases.
- Mementos: Seven themed Mementos were listed at one token each.
- Weapons: Four weapons cost one token each and had listed rolls; Cloudstrike cost three tokens.
- Artifice armor: One class-specific piece cost two tokens and was described as high-stat-roll armor.
- Shader progression: Chatterwhite was tied to completing five quests, rather than spending tokens.
Why a Bento Token quest might not have been available
During the event, not seeing enough quests to reach the five-quest Chatterwhite unlock did not necessarily mean a quest was broken. BungieHelp12’s January 28 response said additional quests would become available across the event. BungieHelp also clarified that a quest step showing a possible reward was not itself a guarantee that the step would issue a token.
Can you still complete the quests or use the tokens?
No. BungieHelp stated that Past Is Prologue ended when Episode: Heresy launched and that the remaining quests and tokens could no longer be completed. Seeing an old quest entry or token does not mean the reward track is still active; the support statement does not establish what any individual account currently displays.
