Fortnite Boons are season-specific abilities, not a permanent set of upgrades. The Boons and ways to obtain them documented here appeared in Chapter 6 Seasons 2, 3 and 4 in 2025; they are historical, not confirmation that any are available now. Epic’s October 1, 2026 Fortnitemares announcement describes seasonal features but does not confirm Boons in the current loot pool. Check the active season’s in-game information before searching for a particular Boon.
How Boons work—and whether they are available now
A Boon grants a gameplay effect, such as revealing a Storm circle, changing how healing or movement works, or improving weapons. Its name, effect and acquisition route can change between seasons. The lists below cover Boons officially described for three 2025 seasons, plus one added during Chapter 6 Season 3; they should not be read as a current-season inventory.

Hero Cache odds by rank
Epic’s Super announcement described rank-based Hero Cache rewards: Rank C caches could contain a Boon, Rank B caches had a high chance, and Rank A and S caches guaranteed one. At S+, players received Boons they were missing. These cache rules applied to that season’s system.
The Super-season Boons and rank details are from Epic’s June 7, 2025 announcement.

Chapter 6 Season 4: Shock ’N Awesome Boons
Epic described several routes for this season’s Boons: O.X.R. Chests and Hive Sacs, Drop Pods, or mid-match objectives such as clearing a POI. The Super Soldier rank variants had a narrower route: Epic said they came exclusively from O.X.R. Drop Pods.
| Boon | Effect | How to get it | Rank scaling |
|---|---|---|---|

How to find the right Boon route
Start with the season, not the Boon name: a chest or vendor route from one season may not exist in another. For the documented examples, Lawless used Black Markets and Rare Chests; Super used Island Chests, Academy Tech Labs and rank-based Hero Caches; Shock ’N Awesome used its own containers, objectives and Drop Pods. For a live match, use the current season’s in-game map, loot descriptions and announcements to verify that a Boon is active before pursuing it.
