The announcements do not explain why the totals differ. The 29-course figure is the latest of these dated claims, but it does not establish a reconciled, up-to-date roster across all platforms or updates.
What courses are named for launch?
2K’s January 2025 reveal specifically highlighted three launch additions: Oakmont Country Club, Quail Hollow Club and Royal Portrush Golf Club. It also called THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass a player favorite, but did not publish the full roster in that announcement. 2K’s launch announcement

Which courses have been announced as free DLC?
2K said in January 2025 that “Additional courses will be added as free post-launch DLC and be available to all players.” The named additions in the available announcements are:

Which 2026 major courses are coming?
On January 14, 2026, 2K named the courses for three 2026 major venues: Aronimink Golf Club, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and Royal Birkdale Golf Club. The announcement says all three will be available to all players through free automatic updates during 2026. 2K’s stated policy is that additional courses are free post-launch DLC, and its 2026 announcement says the three major-venue courses will be free through automatic updates. The source does not say that a paid edition is required for these course updates. The January 2025 announcement said the Standard Edition was offered physically for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while PC was digital-only; Pro and Legend Year 2 editions were digital-only. 2K’s launch announcement
