The Grow a Garden Dinosaur Egg has six possible pets: Raptor (35%), Triceratops (32.5%), Stegosaurus (28%), Pterodactyl (3%), Brontosaurus (1%), and T-Rex (0.5%). Each egg takes 4 hours and 10 minutes to hatch. The egg came from the limited-time Prehistoric Event in July 2025, so older instructions involving Graham’s DNA Machine, Blaire’s quests, or Dinosaur Egg crafting are historical rather than current acquisition advice.

#1 Best Overall
- 2200+ Limnanthes Douglasii Poached Egg Plant Meadowfoam Flower Seeds for Planting Fragrant Yellow-White Blooms, Great for Gardens, Borders, & Container Displays, Low Maintenance
1. Raptor — 35%
The Raptor is the most common Dinosaur Egg outcome and is especially useful for players farming Amber mutations.
- Clever Claws: Collected fruit has a chance to receive the Amber mutation.
- Raptor Dance: Increases the player’s movement speed.
Contemporary guides place the Amber chance at roughly 2% to 2.5% and the movement-speed increase at approximately 14% to 14.5%. Exact values can vary with balancing, the pet’s weight, or the version being referenced.
2. Triceratops — 32.5%
Triceratops is the Dinosaur Egg’s growth-acceleration specialist.

- The effect can sometimes repeat without waiting for the normal cooldown.
Detailed guides generally describe a trigger roughly every 3 minutes and 33 seconds, with an approximately 15% chance for the effect to repeat. The plants are selected randomly, so the ability is most useful when several valuable plants are growing at once.
3. Stegosaurus — 28%
Stegosaurus focuses on producing more fruit from each harvest.
- Prehistoric Doubling: Gives harvested fruit a chance to be duplicated.
- Prehistoric Harvester: Adds a further duplication advantage for prehistoric-type plants.
Published figures commonly put the base duplication chance near 8%, with an additional chance of about 5% for prehistoric fruit. Those detailed percentages are approximate because different guides report slightly different tuning.

- 1000 Poached Egg Flower Seeds: Create stunning ground cover with our bulk collection of 1000 Limnanthes seeds. Perfect for mass plantings, borders, and pollinator gardens with their unique poached egg appearance.
- Unique White and Yellow Bloom Pattern: Enjoy charming white petals with bright yellow centers that resemble sunny-side-up eggs. These cheerful flowers create a carpet of color that brightens any garden space.
- Cool Season Annual Performance: Thrives in USDA zones 2-11 as fast-growing annuals. Prefers cool spring and fall weather, tolerating light frosts but may decline in hot summer temperatures.
- Easy Broadcast Sowing Method: Simply scatter seeds on prepared soil in early spring or fall. Lightly rake into soil and keep moist until established. Self-seeds readily for returning displays.
- Extended Spring to Summer Blooming: Produces continuous flowers from early spring through early summer. In cooler climates, may continue blooming into fall with adequate moisture.
4. Pterodactyl — 3%
Pterodactyl is the first genuinely rare Dinosaur Egg result, combining mutation utility with movement ability.

- Air Time: Increases the player’s jump height.
Detailed ability descriptions report a trigger roughly every 10 to 11 minutes, affecting about three fruits. The alternative Twisted outcome is reported at approximately 18% to 19%, while Air Time adds about 14% jump height.
5. Brontosaurus — 1%
Brontosaurus is aimed at players optimizing the size or weight of newly hatched pets.
- Giant Incubator: Increases the base size or weight of pets hatched while Brontosaurus is active.
Guides report increases ranging from approximately 5.2% to 8.27%, and some descriptions include a cumulative cap. Because the published figures and even the listed rarity tier differ between databases, the safest way to describe Brontosaurus is by its 1% hatch chance and incubator effect rather than by an unqualified rarity label.
6. T-Rex — 0.5%
T-Rex is the rarest Dinosaur Egg pet and specializes in turning one mutation into several.
- Apex Predator: Periodically consumes a mutation from one fruit, then roars and applies that mutation to approximately three other fruits.
The ability is generally reported to activate about every 20 minutes. Its value depends heavily on having useful mutated fruit available when the ability triggers.

- Produces blooms with a yellow center and white margin, resembling a poached egg. This distinctive appearance provides a striking accent for spring and early summer gardens, flower beds, or containers.
- Low-growing and mat-forming habit makes it suitable as a flowering ground cover. Use to fill garden borders, crevices in stepping stone paths, or cover bare soil, creating a carpet of blooms.
- Performs well in these regions with temperate climates and less severe winters.
- Choose a location with full sun to partial shade. Sow seeds directly onto prepared, leveled soil surface in fall (for warmer areas) or early spring (for colder areas). Gently press seeds into soil; do not cover or cover very lightly, as light aids germination.
- Keep the soil consistently moist after sowing until seeds germinate and seedlings are established. Mature plants exhibit some drought tolerance. Light shearing after flowering may encourage bushier growth and a potential second flush of blooms.
How Dinosaur Eggs were obtained
The Dinosaur Egg was tied to Grow a Garden’s limited-time Prehistoric Event, which launched with Version 1.13.0 on July 5, 2025. During the event, players had three documented routes to obtain eggs.
Graham’s DNA Machine
Players could give Graham a non-dinosaur pet at the DNA Machine. Processing took about one hour and could produce one or more Dinosaur Eggs. In some cases, the machine could return a dinosaur directly instead of—or in addition to—eggs.
Historical guides disagree about the exact number of eggs the machine could produce, reporting ranges from 1–3 to 1–6. That difference may reflect machine upgrades or different stages of the event, so it is safer to remember the machine as an egg-producing conversion system rather than rely on one universal output range.

Blaire’s prehistoric quests
Blaire’s prehistoric or Dino quests could also reward Dinosaur Eggs. Historical guides describe a set of three quests rewarding one Dinosaur Egg along with an Ancient Seed Pack and Dino Crate. Other quest rewards included seed packs and cosmetics.
Crafting
After the relevant event progression, the crafting recipe was:
- 1 Common Egg
- 1 Bone Blossom
- 5,500,000 Sheckles
- 30-minute craft time
This was an event-era recipe, not a permanent guarantee that Dinosaur Eggs remain craftable after the event.

Can you still get a Dinosaur Egg?
The Dinosaur Egg should be treated as a historical, limited-time event egg. The Prehistoric Event ended in July 2025, and post-event coverage reported that Blaire’s prehistoric quests and Graham’s DNA Machine were no longer available. New Dinosaur Eggs were therefore not obtainable through the documented regular event routes after the event ended.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteHistorical records disagree about the exact final day, citing July 12 and July 19, while late-July coverage confirms that the game had moved on to the Zen Update. “The event ended in July 2025” is the most reliable broad date.
Players who already owned an egg or one of the dinosaur pets may still retain or use it, but inventory behavior is version-dependent and was not established by the available research. Do not assume that Graham, Blaire, or the crafting recipe is currently active simply because older guides still show those instructions.

- STRIKING APPEARANCE: Produces charming bicolor yellow flowers that resemble tiny snapdragons, adding visual interest to gardens, borders, and naturalized areas.
- EASY GROWING: Plant indoors weeks before last frost or directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed, with average soil and full sun requirements.
- EXTENDED BLOOMING PERIOD: Primarily flowers in early to mid-summer, with possible additional blooming in spring and fall, providing long-lasting garden interest.
- ADAPTABLE PERENNIAL: Thrives in hardiness zones 3-9, growing 12-36 inches tall with recommended spacing of 12-15 inches between plants for optimal growth.
What is the best Dinosaur Egg pet?
There is no single best choice for every garden:
- Choose Raptor for the most accessible Amber and movement utility.
- Choose Triceratops for general growth acceleration.
- Choose Stegosaurus when extra harvested fruit is the priority.
- Choose Pterodactyl for rare mutation effects and mobility.
- Choose Brontosaurus for pet-hatching and weight optimization.
- Choose T-Rex for the strongest specialist mutation-spreading role.
The rarest pet is not automatically the best pet for every farming setup. Your crop selection, mutation strategy, and whether you are optimizing plants or pets matter more than the egg’s rarity alone.
Merchandise note
Grow a Garden mystery plush products have been reported through third-party retail listings, including officially licensed PhatMojo products with Roblox DLC codes. Those assortments cover a broader range of Grow a Garden pets and should not be treated as a Dinosaur Egg replica or as a guaranteed source of Raptor, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Pterodactyl, Brontosaurus, or T-Rex. Stock, sellers, prices, licensing, and regional availability can change, so check the current listing before buying.
