The 2025 Epic Games Store holiday giveaway ran from December 11, 2025, through January 8, 2026. It included 16 claim windows and 17 giveaway entries, with Total War: Three Kingdoms and Wildgate offered together in the final window. Because the Trine Classic Collection contains three separate games, the promotion included 19 individual game titles if its contents are counted separately.
This was a historical promotion: its claim windows have now ended. Games claimed during the relevant windows remain in the claimant’s Epic Games library permanently, but games not claimed before their deadlines cannot be added for free through this promotion.

How many games were in the 2025 holiday giveaway?
There are three useful ways to count the promotion:
- 16 claim windows: one extended Hogwarts Legacy window, 14 subsequent December entries, and one final January window.
- 17 giveaway entries: Hogwarts Legacy, the 14 later December offers, and the final two-game offer.
- 19 individual titles: the 17 giveaway entries plus the three separate games included in Trine Classic Collection, while treating that collection as one entry would mean adding two extra titles.
This distinction matters because the often-repeated description of “17 daily mystery games” is inaccurate. The schedule did not contain 17 daily reveals: it contained 16 claim windows, and the final window offered two games together. The published table also identifies three games inside Trine Classic Collection.
What was unusual about the schedule?
Hogwarts Legacy had an extended window
Hogwarts Legacy was available from December 11 through December 18, rather than for only one day. It was the opening offer and the clear exception to the daily pattern.

Epic’s regular free-game schedule normally changes on Thursdays at 8:00 a.m. PT with a seven-day claim period. The holiday event used a different, shorter schedule before the regular weekly pattern resumed. For current promotions, check Epic’s official Free Games page rather than relying on an old holiday timetable.
