All Mini Medal Locations in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined: 100-Medal Checklist

DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined has 100 Mini Medals. The reliable way to collect them all is to follow a numbered route, note each medal’s exact container or landmark, and return to earlier areas when new keys or story progress open previously inaccessible spots. This checklist is scoped to Reimagined, not the original game or its 3DS version.

Before you start collecting Mini Medals

  • Expect backtracking. Some pickups are behind keys obtained later, and some Estard Castle finds are available only during a temporary story section. Revisit earlier towns and dungeons as your progress unlocks them.
  • Track the exact spot. Medals can be in drawers, pots, barrels, ordinary or locked chests, hidden rooms, dungeons, and even a glowing spot on the world map. A location name alone may not be enough to find one.
  • Use the in-game hint tools appropriately. The Medal Album, available from the menu’s Info tab, gives hints for places you have visited. Ruff’s Nose for Treasure reports remaining items in an area; its coverage can include nearby screens, a whole city, or a larger area depending on where you use it. It is a general item check, not a confirmed Mini Medal detector.

RPG Site’s chronological walkthrough numbers pickups through 100 and recommends using the in-game map for general exploration. Its route includes early and later revisits, including locked chests and story-gated areas. You can follow the full numbered route at RPG Site’s Mini Medal locations guide. Game8 also describes its guide as covering all 100 Mini Medal locations; its displayed update date is March 17, 2026: Game8’s Dragon Quest VII Reimagined guide index.

Mini Medal locations: follow the route and mark return trips

Use the numbered entries in the RPG Site route as your checklist. For each pickup, record the era or game state, the room or landmark, and the specific container. When an entry is locked or story-dependent, leave it unchecked until you reach the stated prerequisite, then revisit the area.

Early route and key-locked return trips

The route begins with a medal in a drawer in the King’s room at Estard Castle, then continues through later areas such as a chest on Tower 6F and a village pot. Other early-area pickups require returning after finding the Thief’s Key; the walkthrough specifically sends players back to earlier locked chests, including one in Pilchard Bay. Once you obtain the Magic Key, return to Estard and the Dig Site for newly accessible chests.

While on the field, players can pre-emptively strike monsters and instantly defeat them If the monster is weaker than the party.

Story-gated and temporarily inaccessible pickups

Some medals require more than a key. One is hidden in a past-era area behind a statue that depends on story progress. The walkthrough also warns that two Estard Castle medals should be collected during a temporary party/story section, because you cannot return for a while. If you are following the route as you play, do not leave those castle finds until later.

Later story and post-game route

The checklist continues through later locations including Buccanham Palace, the Beacon, Burnmount, a ship, Al-Balad, and Temple Palace, then into post-game areas. RPG Site’s indexed route reaches entry 99, while Game8 labels its guide as covering all 100. Consult the complete numbered walkthrough for the actual entry-by-entry directions rather than inferring a missing location from examples or importing a list from another edition.

Environments and dungeons are also brought to life with a unique hand-crafted, diorama-style aesthetic that vividly illustrates the beloved world of the DRAGON QUEST series Enhanced Story - While remaining faithful to the original story, the narrative of DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined has been enhanced to provide a more streamlined story experience. Alongside the main adventure, players can enjoy optional side quests, stories and minigames

How to check whether you missed a medal

  1. Open the Medal Album from the menu’s Info tab and review hints for places you have already visited.
  2. Return to the relevant area and use Ruff’s Nose for Treasure to check whether items remain nearby. Try it at the appropriate scale: a room or screen, a city, or a broader map area.
  3. Compare the item check with your numbered route. Because Ruff’s Nose counts items generally, an item remaining does not by itself prove that it is a Mini Medal.
  4. Recheck entries that require a later key or story event, including the temporarily inaccessible Estard Castle finds, before concluding that an area is complete.
