Each has a shiny form with a different palette. The comparisons below pair each regular sprite with its shiny counterpart and point out the most visible changes. Pokémon’s Pokédex lists the species and their types; the sprite pairs can be viewed in the Pokémon Database shiny-dex gallery.
How to compare the regular and shiny sprites
Use the same game and sprite style for both images in a pair, since artwork and display settings can affect how colors appear. First compare the overall body color, then inspect markings and smaller details such as fins, collars, jewels, and ribbons. The notes below describe visible palette differences, not official Pokémon descriptions or rankings.
Eevee and its eight Evolutions
| Pokémon | Type | Regular and shiny comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Eevee | Normal | In the shiny sprite, Eevee’s usual brown coat becomes a pale cream color. Its cream-colored neck ruff and tail tip remain light, so the main coat provides the clearest contrast. |
| Vaporeon | Water | The shiny form shifts Vaporeon’s blue body toward a purple-pink hue. Check the fins and neck frill alongside the body, as their accents also change in the paired sprites. |
| Jolteon | Electric | Jolteon’s regular yellow coat becomes a deeper green in its shiny form. The sharp, spiky outline keeps the same basic shape, making the coat color the easiest difference to spot. |
| Flareon | Fire | The shiny form has a more muted orange-brown coat than regular Flareon. Compare the mane and tail tuft as well as the body to see how the warm colors shift across its fur. |
| Espeon | Psychic | Espeon’s usual lilac body turns green in its shiny form. Its forehead jewel changes from red to blue, creating a distinct accent against the altered body color. |
| Umbreon | Dark | Umbreon retains its dark body, while its ring markings change from yellow to blue. The markings are the key difference, so inspect the rings on its ears, legs, and tail. |
| Leafeon | Grass | Leafeon’s shiny palette is more subdued than its regular tan-and-green coloring. Compare the body with the leaf-like ear and tail details, where the green tones shift in the shiny sprite. |
| Glaceon | Ice | Glaceon’s shiny sprite makes a subtle change to its cool blue palette, with lighter, more muted tones than the regular form. Look closely at the head adornments, ears, and body to distinguish the pair. |
| Sylveon | Fairy | Sylveon’s usual pink-and-blue accents become blue-and-pink in the shiny form: the main pink areas turn blue, while several blue details turn pink. Its ribbons, feelers, and body markings make the color swap easy to follow. |
