To reach Master in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Ranked, build a consistent climb around survival and strong finishes—but check the live Ranked screen for the current Master requirement. PUBG’s 2026 roadmap says the system is intended to reward longer survival and consecutive high placements more clearly, but it does not state a current Master RP threshold or a complete scoring formula. The exact ranks, rules, and access requirements can change by season and platform.
How PUBG Ranked progression works
Ranked progression is measured in Ranked Points (RP), but the official information available does not establish a complete current formula for how each match changes your RP. PUBG’s 2026 roadmap describes a planned direction: longer survival should earn more points, while consecutive Top 4 finishes or back-to-back Chicken Dinners are planned to earn bonus RP. These are roadmap intentions, not a guarantee that every mechanic is live in your current season. Check the in-game Ranked interface and current patch notes for active rules.
That means no fixed RP target can be responsibly given here for Master. Use the current Ranked screen to see your rank and progress, and consult the season’s notes for changes to tiers, promotion conditions, or scoring.
How to improve your chances of reaching Master
The roadmap’s stated direction makes consistency a sensible goal: prioritize staying alive and converting matches into strong placements instead of treating every game as a fight for early eliminations. The advice below is general gameplay strategy, not an official PUBG scoring formula or a promise of rank gains.

Make survival deliberate
- Choose a landing area that gives your squad time to loot and rotate rather than forcing an avoidable early fight.
- Track the circle and leave early enough to avoid being trapped between the blue zone and other teams.
- Before crossing open ground, identify cover, likely enemy positions, and a fallback route.
Take fights with a reason
- Engage when your team has an advantage—such as better cover, numbers, or a clear route to disengage—not simply because an opponent is visible.
- If a fight is stalled or drawing attention, consider breaking contact and repositioning.
- After a knock or elimination, assess nearby threats and the circle before committing to a loot or revive.
Turn good positions into strong finishes
- Rotate toward defensible terrain and avoid crossing late unless there is no safer option.
- Keep enough utility for the final circles; smoke grenades can help with revives or crossings, while other grenades can dislodge opponents from cover.
- Review deaths for repeatable mistakes, such as late rotations or taking fights without cover, and change one habit at a time.
What past seasons can—and cannot—tell you
Old rank charts and RP numbers are not reliable proof of today’s Master requirement. The following examples are explicitly season-specific and should be read as history, not current instructions.

Check Ranked access before you start
Access rules can depend on platform and account status, so verify them in the game and on PUBG’s current support pages. PUBG’s Plus information says players can play Normal Matches and reach Survival Mastery level 80 to play Ranked, and describes Ranked matchmaking benefits for Plus. PUBG Support’s secondary-password guidance, updated January 15, 2026, says a secondary password is required to access Rank Mode on PC. Confirm the current requirements for your platform.

A practical way to track your climb
- Open the current Ranked screen and note your rank, RP, and any promotion or performance conditions shown there.
- Read the current season’s patch notes for changes to ranks, RP, matchmaking, or eligibility.
- After each session, review your placements and identify whether lost progress came from early deaths, poor rotations, or unnecessary fights.
- Set a process goal for the next session—such as rotating before the circle closes—rather than assuming a historical RP number guarantees promotion.
